Passed away peacefully to join her beloved husband Elmer on April 16th, 2012. Lorraine lived a fulfilled life, with a smile on her face, music in her heart and left a legacy of love which touched the lives of everyone she knew. She inspired others with her numerous passions, hobbies and zest for life; particularly important was her love of music, her market years and compassionate care giving.
Loving mother of Linda Horn (Bob Simpson), Carol Walsh (Dan), Maxine Freeland (and the late Brad), Debbie Belkwell and Patrick Spielmacher. Cherished grandma of Alan Horn, Coralie Rose (Don), Hollie Walsh-Uellenberg (Stefan), Matthew Walsh (Mussette), Anita Walsh (Jamie Zinger), David Freeland (Renee), James Freeland and Jeff, Jennifer and Billy Belkwell.
She will be missed by her precious great-grand-children and nieces and nephews, especially Barb and Sheila. Survived by her brother Philip and her sister Anne.
A memorial service will be held in Kitchener on Friday, April 20th.

At the age of 92, a resident for the past 10 years at Anne Hathaway Residence, passed away peacefully at the Hillside Manor, on April 16th, 2012.
She was born in Eliice Township, June 23, 1919, daughter of the late Norman and Louisa (Seebach) Fischer.
Irene was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stratford. Beloved wife of the late Victor Henry Wilker who predeceased her July 9, 1980.
Her family was a most treasured part of her life.
Irene is survived by her children Ross Wilker (Joan), Dianne Lindner (Wayne). Loving grandmother of Allan Wilker (Melissa), Roger Wilker (Alesia), Kristene McCurdy (Dan), Kim Thompson (Scott), Kevin Lindner.
Cherished great grandmother of Noah, Ryan, Ben, Nicholas, Katie, Josh, Lucas, Jack and Walker. Also survived by a sister Myrtle Judge, sisters-in-law Noreen Wilker, Gertie McDougall (Don) and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by brothers Lorne in infancy, Earl, Douglas, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert Judge, Marguerite Fischer, Ed Wilker, Jean Wilker, Audrey Wilker and Nelson Wilker.
The funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 115 Cambria Street, Stratford on Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Timothy Teuscher will officiate.

Helen passed away on Sunday, April 15th, 2012 at the Brant Community Hospital. Born April 23rd, 1919, she was an accomplished musician, choreographer and performer in the K-W area.
Loving mother of Larry (Dorothy), Patricia (Ron), Mary (Spencer & Lisa), Virginia (Wayne), Peter (Wendy), Paul (Gail) and Alex (Hilda). Will be sadly missed by 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Predeceased by many loving brothers and sisters.
While her life had not been an easy one she maintained a sparkle in her eyes, an appreciation for the simple things, and undying love for family & friends, with nary any bitterness at what made up the structure of her life.
A memorial mass to celebrate her life will take place on Thursday, April 19th at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St. E., Waterloo, at 11 am. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Interment in Kitchener where she will be laid to rest with her loving mother.

EISOLD, Helmut Manfred -
Helmut Eisold died at his home suddenly, but peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012.
Helmut was born in Ringenhain, Germany on February 18th, 1938. He came to Canada in 1965. For most of his working life, he was employed as a millwright with Havlik Enterprises and its successors.
Helmut will be remembered as a keen sportsman, and for his love for animals.
Helmut is survived by his wife, Anita van Esch, and his brothers Gunther, Werner, and Manfred of Germany.
An afternoon reception will be held, in memory of Helmut at 849 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Sunday, April 22 from 3:00 pm.

Doug was formerly of Waterloo and was born 69 years ago in Walkerton. He was the son of the late Stanley & Irene (Wingfelder) Gross.
Beloved husband of the Jackie (Houghton) Gross with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage. Loving father of Suzanne & Ken Wasik of Mississauga and Scott Gross & Jennifer Wamsley of Atlanta, Georgia.
Dear grampy of Autumn and Conor Gross and Isabella McDonald. Sadly missed by his sisters and brothers, Kathy & Doug Collison of Georgetown, Karl & Patti Gross of Port Dover, Dave & Joan Gross of Walkerton, Kim & Suzanne Gross of Waterloo, and also his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne Jasper and John & Marie Houghton all of Toronto. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Also remembered by his good friend Marie Palmer.
Doug was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, New Hamburg. Prior to his retirement, Doug worked at Weston Bakeries and Laidlaw Waste Systems.

HARROLD, William 'Don' -
Passed away unexpectedly from cancer at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Sunday, April 15th, 2012, at age 77.
He was the childhood sweetheart and best friend of Shirley Hassum Harrold for 53 years; loving father of Penny (Glenn), Todd and Tim; devoted grandfather of Jeffrey, Mark and Devon Hughes, and Eric, Daniel and Sarah Harrold.
Don will be greatly missed by their dachshund, Pumpkin. Lovingly remembered by Bonnie and Stuart Macdonnell of Hudson, Ohio.
Predeceased by father Alfred, mother Margaret and brother Alan Harrold.
Don worked for 35 years with Electrohome and in retirement he and Shirl enjoyed their dream of travelling while living aboard his boat for several years. Don also enjoyed several years at his winter home in Florida. Among his many passions were volunteering his computer expertise at the local paper, duplicate bridge and gardening.
To honour Don's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Of Eden Mills, died suddenly Sunday, April 15th, 2012.
Beloved wife of Brian, loving mother to P. Brian Skerrett of Guelph, and Kevin Skerrett and Simone Powell of Ottawa, especially loved Grandnan to Alexander Skerrett, and special aunt to Seadna Ledger née Bigelow (Dave Ledger).
A feminist and an activist, Mary committed herself to a number of struggles for social justice, both local and international. Most recently, she initiated several projects in support of building stronger links between the community and the local labour movement. Mary held a deep respect for animals, particularly horses, cats and dogs, from whom she learned many profound life lessons.
She greatly valued her Nova Scotian heritage, and enjoyed many summers at "the Camp," a log cabin on the Bay of Fundy. Mary's lifelong passion for music of many styles was reflected in her involvement in several community choirs, her mastery of ragtime piano, and an intense appreciation of many popular, Broadway, and classical recordings.
Accomplished and experimental in the kitchen, Mary's approach to cooking was like so much else in her life - studious, creative, and generous. The tireless energy and humour she brought to those around her will be greatly missed.
Mary will be remembered by family and all friends on Saturday, April 28th from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm at a "celebration of her life," at the OAC Centennial Arboretum Centre, University of Guelph, College Ave East, Guelph.

STAAL, Isabel Edna (nee Struthers) -
It is with great sadness that we announce the death on April 15, 2012 of Isabel Edna Staal (nee Struthers), formerly of Waterloo, Ontario. Isabel passed away in Toronto with family by her side at the age of 87.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 63 years Ralph Staal (2011), her beloved son Philip (2009) and her siblings Muriel, Eleanor and Donald. She will be dearly missed by daughters Helen (Peter Ramm) of St. Catharines, Kathy (Al Mitchell) of Toronto, Ingrid (Ian Perry) of Nanaimo and daughter-in-law Grace of Ottawa. Admired and loved grandmother of Andrew, Nick (Kristina), Adam, Ethan and Jennifer.
Isabel was born in Toronto and at a few months of age, moved to China where her father was a United Church missionary doctor. At twelve she attended a year of high school in Japan, then returned to Toronto. She enrolled at U of T with a Math and Science scholarship, graduating with a MA in Physics in 1946. Shortly thereafter she married Ralph.
She taught physics for a short time before she focused her energy on raising 4 children in Fredericton where Ralph taught math at UNB. In 1963 the family returned to Ontario where Ralph joined U of Waterloo. With her children finishing high school, Isabel completed her MLS at UWO. She enjoyed her work as Chief Librarian at the Waterloo Public Library until her retirement in 1989.
Isabel was an active member of her church and community and received many Volunteer awards. She was a President of the local CFUW club and was very involved with Trinity United Church in Kitchener.
She and Ralph were constant companions; together they cultivated Isabel's gardens, attended plays and music concerts, played tennis and travelled extensively. A special place for them was their cottage north of Huntsville where they enjoyed the lake and family gatherings.
A celebration of Isabel's life will take placae in Toronto on Sunday, April 22nd.

Frank obtained his degree in Engineering and became President and CEO of FAG Automotive North America and FAG Bearings, Ltd.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Otto and Heidi Lang and father-in-law Pio Castellan. Frank was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Stratford and a volunteer with the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation.
Frank’s family was his passion. Frank loved watching his children play sports, spending time at the cottage, and playing hockey, tennis and volleyball.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday at 11 am.

SCHNURR, Corrine Virginia -
After a long debilitating struggle with Lewy Body dementia and Parkinson’s, Corrine is finally at peace. She took her last breath at Pinehaven Nursing Home on April 14, 2012 at the age of 71.
She joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame at a very young age and taught at many different schools in the area, but her most fulfilling time was when she went to the Missions in Peru.
After much soul searching, Corrine left the convent after 25 years and undertook the huge task of going back to school to become a Registered Massage Therapist. Anyone who had the opportunity to have her healing hands massage them, can attest to how great she was at her chosen profession.
Loving sister of Therese Hummel, Kitchener, Patricia Hummel (Tom), Waterloo, Raymond Schnurr (Cheryl), Kitchener, Edward Schnurr (Margaret), Kitchener and David Schnurr (Joyce), Damascus and brother-in-law Ken Stemmler (Shirley).
Dear aunt and great aunt to several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her very good friend Marlene Waechter de Carrion. Predeceased by her parents Marie (Dorscht) (2011) and Harold Schnurr (1999), sister Marlene Stemmler (1983) and brother-in-law Irvin Hummel (1998).
Special thanks to all the dedicated staff at Pinehaven who were so patient, loving and kind to Corrine, especially Barb Friesen.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Corrine's Life will be held in Kitchener on Wednesday April 18th with Rev. Jack Paleczny officiating with a reception to follow.

After many years as a Director of Research for several multinational companies, Jim co-founded Adjuvants Plus Inc. twelve years ago with Dr. William Brown in Kingsville, Ontario. This entrepreneurial company became successful largely due to terrific teamwork and complementary talents of Jim’s colleagues at Adjuvants Plus Inc. Jim was very proud of the development of the patented technology around non-marine sourced Omega 3 fatty acids. The numerous product registrations, corporate agreements and multiple worldwide patents are a testimony to Jim’s visionary talents, passion and commitment and will assure the continued success of Adjuvants Plus Inc. for years to come.

In her 100th year, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Place on April 14th, 2012.
Her infectious laugh and kindness will be missed by her son Gerald and his wife Anne of Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, and her granddaughters Janet and Katherine both of Toronto.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband Ernie, brothers Ted, and George, and sisters Violet, Rose and Edith. Elsie was a life long resident of Galt and a member of Trinity Anglican Church.

Survived by her sisters Margaret Dettweiler (Harold) and Florence Karcher (Don) of Kitchener, Mabel Stott (George) of Stratford. Also survived by her brother-in-law Dr. Harley Wideman (Christine) and her sisters-in-law Betty Brown (Tom), Lena and Ivy Wideman.
Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Ina Hachborn, her sisters Ruth Eby and Doris Shantz and her brothers-in-law Lloyd and Ross Wideman.
Alice served faithfully alongside her husband in Christian Ministry for 40 years as a pastor’s wife. She acted as the Ontario President of Women’s Missionary Society for 5 years and prior to her marriage, she served as a deaconess at the Listowel Missionary Church.
A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday April 21st at 11 AM followed by a reception. Private interment to follow.

A beautiful, loving wife, a wonderful mother and a beloved "Mamie" passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, following knee surgery and subsequent medical complications at the age of 82.
Beloved wife of Bill for 61 wondrous years and mother to Gail (Tom), Carole (Earl), Cindy (Ken), Lea, Glen (Cathy), David (Nancy) and Dean (Suzanne). Dear "Mamie" to 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Doreen's infectious spirit and genuine friendliness endeared her to all who loved her as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, best friend and family matriarch.
Her love of flowers was always evident regardless of the season and she was an enthusiastic collector (glass, art, figurines) and enjoyed travelling.

Peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2012 in his 85th year at the Bob Kemp Hospice, after a lengthy illness.
Dearly loved and missed by his wife Juana (Ina Smith). Fondly remembered and cherished by many family and friends in the Hamilton/Wentworth area, Alberta, Germany, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Michigan.
John was a longtime retiree of Stelco and had spent many years on "the farm" in Copetown on the Powerline Road.
John enjoyed watching all sports and listening to classical music. He found great joy being around babies and children. John had a great passion for discussing many subjects with everyone he met and he was known for his very friendly nature. He will be remembered for his homemade bread and french fries.
At John's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.
