Wilson VernaWILSON, Verna (nee Martin)  -  Passed away peacefully  on Thursday, December 8, 2016 on her wedding anniversary, to join her beloved husband Glen Wilson who passed away in 1995. 

Loving mother of John and Lynn, Della, and Jeff  and Maggie Wilson. Much loved grandma of Jacqueline, Christopher, Zachary and Victoria. They will smile at their memories and will miss her.

One of four Mennonite children born to Norman and Alvina Martin, she is predeceased by her brothers Clifford and Eugene and survived by her sister Wilma Metzger of Elmira. 

 

MacLeod WilliamMACLEOD, William Earl  -  (1938 – 2016)  -  Born on December 1, 1938 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Bill met his Heavenly Father on December 8, 2016, after his brief battle with cancer. He passed away at Grand River Hospital surrounded by family. 

Beloved husband of Ann (McMahon) for 47 years. 

Cherished father of Kim Estes (Paul), Linda Reidner (Scott), and Bill MacLeod Jr. (Dawn). His jovial spirit will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Bradley (Emerald), Brandon, Jonathan, Brooklyn, Talon, Austin, Ariana, and Emmett, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Loyal pet Vanilla will long for the many enjoyable car rides they shared.

Leech MarilynLEECH, Marilyn  -  Passed away suddenly at her home in Baden. Marilyn was born 80 years ago in Toronto and was the daughter of the late George and Edna (Greer) Brown.

Beloved wife of the late Lyall Leech who predeceased her November 5, 2003. 

Loving mother of Michael Leech of Hamilton and Karen Russon of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by her granddaughter Samantha and grandson Shaun (Taylor). Also remembered by son-in-law Ted Russon. Marilyn was predeceased by her sister Lois Brown in 2001.

Weber HildaWEBER, Hilda  -  (1928-2016)  -  It is with great sadness I announce the passing of Hilda Weber (nee Schilling) on the evening of December 7 at home.

Predeceased by her husband Otto Weber (2009) and her brothers Emil and Jack Schilling.

Survived by her daughter Monica Weber and her sisters-in-law Elizabeth, Charlotte, Annemarie and Ulla, as well as nieces and nephews both in Canada and Germany.

The daughter of Henry Voll and the former Louisa Hahn. She was born in Linwood, Ontario.

Beatrice is lovingly remembered by her three children, Patricia Parsons (Robert), Dianne Wittig (Frank) and Terry Golbeck (Shelley). Dear grandmother of Christina Butt (Jeff), Jonathan Oswald (Anne-Marie), Tobias Wittig (Christine), Richelle Pearce (Jackson), Alexis Roseborough (Cam), Taralyn Golbeck, Karen Reiner and Kris Parsons. Jacobi DoreenJACOBI, Doreen Olive (nee Heimpel)  -  With deep sadness, the children of Doreen Jacobi announce the passing of their mother at Innisfree House on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 79.

Doreen was the precious and much loved mother of Susan and her husband Don Brenner, Linda and her husband Stan Knight and Steven Jacobi and his wife Nancy. She was the cherished Nana of Brianna Doreen Jacobi 'the apple of her eye'. She was the special Nana of Jessica, James and Michelle Conlon.

Doreen is survived by her dearly loved brother Bruce Heimpel (Marge), and his children Pattimarie Wagner (Wayne) and Jeff Heimpel (Nadine) and their families. Also dearly missed by Joy Heimpel.

Rowe DorisROWE, Doris (nee Mountford)  -  Passed away peacefully at the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell, on Tuesday December  6, 2016 in her 97th year.

Survived by loving daughter, Susan, sisters  Elsie(Tom), Hilda(Roy), Joyce(Bill) and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Robert Rowe, sister Nellie(Bill), brothers Fred(Nora), Wilf(Evelyn) and Bill.

 

Hancott ShawnHANCOTT, Shawn Elvis  -  After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Shawn passed away peacefully at his home in Kitchener, Ontario on December 6th, 2016 at the age of 53 years. 

Shawn is predeceased by his father, the late Hayward Hancott and his father-in-law the late Roger St. Denis. 

He leaves to mourn his best friend, soulmate and wife Colette (St. Denis) of 25 years, his loving mother Delores Hancott of NL, his three children Nicole (Tyler), Shannon (Anne) and Cecilia, all of NS. His sister Charlene (Chris) Gillingham of NL, his brother Roderick (Lenora) Hancott of AB, his youngest sister Gina (Deon) Wheaton of ON, his grandsons Cale, Reid and Carter, his sister-in-law Monique (Rod) Hanlon of ON.

 

Stone FrederickSTONE, Frederick 'Fred'  -  Passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2016, surrounded by his family.

LEGATE, Norma Bernice  -  (October 16, 1925)  -  Died peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital Tuesday December 6, 2016 after saying goodbye to her children.

She leaves behind her son, George (Ruth Exon) and daughter, Leslie; grandchildren, Christa (Jesse Cooper), Phillip (Payge Mildebrath); and two great-grandchildren, Angus and Maire Cooper.

Norma was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, George Legate Sr. During their life together in Toronto she was an active volunteer for Sick Children's Hospital. She happily knit through life. Most recently she has resided at Queen's Terrace, Cambridge to be close to her family.

DONAHUE, Captain William 'Bill'  -  Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5th, 2016 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Cambridge in his 70th year. Dear son of the late Lawrence Donahue and Kathleen Pells.

Beloved husband and best friend of Jan Donahue; loving father of Christopher (Tammy), Jennifer (Graham), Geoffrey, and Aaron. Cherished Grandpa of Jonah, Emily, Maya, Katelyn, Faye, Bobby, Molly, and Brody.

Will be missed by brothers Rick (Dee), Dan (Sheila) and by brother-in-law Gene (Marcia) and mother-in-law Barb Sanvido. Dear uncle to Matthew, Greg (Lindsay), Anne, and Candice.

 

DOUCETTE, William (Bill) J.  -  Of Guelph (born in Halifax), passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the age of 72 years. 'Veni, vidi, vici', I came I saw I conquered.

Bill was with the Provo Corps and stationed in Edmonton and Germany and then returned to Edmonton where he remustered to R.C.E.M.E. He continued his distinguished career with the UN Peacekeeping service. Upon retiring he served with the reserves and with the Sheriff’s Department in Kentville, NS.

Much loved husband of Paula Doucette (nee McGrath) for 45 cherished years.

 

Schumacher MarySCHUMACHER, Mary Elizabeth  -  On the morning of December 5th 2016 God has called his angel home.
She was 75 years of age. 

Mary spent 54 years as a doting wife to her husband, Gary. She was selfless in her love for her three children, grandchildren and great grandchild. 

Never has a woman given so much to others while not expecting anything in return. The only thing she might demand was a cookie or two from Tim Hortons. Mary would go on countless shopping trips - for everyone but herself. She thought only of others and their celebrations, success, losses and triumphs. This is a testament to all the unopened gifts she bought for others and forgot to deliver.

Beloved wife of the late James Wiltse (1989), Ludena will be lovingly remembered by her son Bruce Wiltse (Geraldine). 

She leaves precious memories with her grandchildren Wendy Miller (Fred) and Chris Wiltse, and with her great grandchildren Michaella, Mackenzie, Katlyn and Brayden. Predeceased by; her sons Gary and Terry, her brother Garfield, and her sisters Gladys, Orkney, Fern, Miriam and Dorothy.

Nixon RoyNIXON, Roy Wesley  -  Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, on Monday, December 05, 2016 in his 94th year.

Roy will be remembered by his daughter Brenda Day and his son William Nixon.

Survived by his sister Ruth Dirstein (Gerry) and his brother Kenneth. Roy was predeceased by his 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

 

HARPER, Margaret 'Marge' Immaculata (nee Kennedy)  -  Passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016.

Predeceased by her first husband, Paul Comeau, by her brothers Edward, James and Albert, by her sisters Regina and Rita and by her nephew Timmy Kennedy. 

Left to mourn their losses are her loving and devoted husband, Ralph Harper, her brother William J. Kennedy of St. John’s, Newfoundland, her sisters Mary Keiley of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Anne Kennedy of Groton, Connecticut, her sisters-in-law Kathleen Kennedy of Burton, New Brunswick and Donna Kennedy of St. John’s, Newfoundland, her cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Lovingly remembered by her sons Alex and Aaron and her daughter Christina.
