MACQUEEN, Bonnie Darlene  –  Passed away unexpectedly at home on May 22, 2017 in her 63rd year.

Beloved mother of Duncan Scott (Heather), Matthew Daniel Thomas (Jill) and Kayla Nicole. Loving Nana of Hayden, Justin, Hillary, Julia, Brandon, Liam, Aurora, Ethan and Jacob. 

Survived by her siblings Sally, Dan, Marjorie, Brian and Kevin and predeceased by Jeannie and Tom. Bonnie will missed by her many nieces, nephews and family members. 

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements out of Kitchener.

Boyd JamesBOYD, James Edward  -  At age 57, of Kitchener, formerly of Stratford, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 22, 2017. Born in St. Marys, son of the Sylvia (Cubberley) Boyd and the late John 'Jack' Boyd.

James is survived by his children Bryan Boyd (Jodie) and Lianne Stokes (Rodney). Grandfather of Aiden, Alison, Evangeline and Hunter.

James is survived by his siblings Gerri Lawrie (Jim) and Jennifer Fries (Mark) along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, James was predeceased by his sister Terena Boyd.

 

McCaul DonMcCAUL, James Donald 'Don' - We remember with fondness James Donald McCaul. Don was born in Toronto. He first moved to Stratford with his family in 1923 when his father became a manager of McLagan Furniture.

As the eldest of 5 children, he was a mentor to his three sisters, Jean (2010), Helen (2010) and Dorothy (2016), and to his brother Robert of Stratford. 

After completing high school in Stratford, Don worked in Toronto where he met Evelyn Johnston (2009), a medical student from Sault Ste. Marie, who was in residence at U of T with Don’s sister Jean. Don was asked to coach the medical women’s hockey team of which Evelyn was a member. Don and Evelyn were married on June 27, 1942 after Evelyn had graduated from U of T.

 

Moore JeanMOORE, Jean Margaret (nee Rock)  -  At age 70, of St. Marys and formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Wildwood Care Centre on Monday, May 22, 2017. She was born in Stratford, daughter of the late Walter Rock and the former Flossie French.

Beloved wife of the late Ronald Moore (2015). Loving mother of Robert Bean (Jane), Brian Moore and Terry Moore (Greg).

Dear sister-in-law of Marjorie Rock. Also survived by her step-grandchildren Dennis and David Neill. Predeceased by her brother Keith Rock.

 

Ponte AntonioPONTE, Antonio Moniz  -  Passed away Peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on Monday, May 22, 2017, at the age of 84 years.

Beloved husband of the late Lourdes Ponte (1997) and Maria Ponte. 

Dear father of Filomena Hallam (Ponte) and her children Christine, Steven and Brian, Antonio Ponte (Shelley) and their children Kaela and Keisha, Paul Ponte (Jackie) and their daughter Angelica, the late Mario Ponte (2003) (Donna) and his children Jason and Tinisha and to stepdaughter Michelle Lima and her children Carissa and Ryder and to great grandchildren Taylor, Vanessa, Joshua, Adelynne, Mia, Aubrie, Mateo, Leila and Lucas.

 

Kay KieranKAY, Kieran Matthew Fred  -  It is with our deepest sorrow to announce the sudden passing of Kieran in his 27th year. 

Kieran will be forever missed by his mom Caroline her Husband Bill Pearl and sister Makayla and grandfather Gerald Phillips of Cambridge. Dearly remembered by his father Mark Kay and his wife Julie, Tyson, Marcel and Molly of Sarnia and his, many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends from across Canada and the United States.

Predeceased by his grandparents Dorothy Phillips, Walter and Irene Cunliffe and Fred Kay. 

 

HOFFMANN, Carola  -  Passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 in her 98th year.

Loving mother of Elke (Horst) Kreitzer. Cherished Oma to Peter, Michael, Anthony (Lynn) and Tanya (John).  Sadly missed by her ten great-grandchildren and her great-great-granddaughter.

Predeceased by her husband Leonard Hoffmann and her daughter Ute Hoffmann.

 

Boehm BettyBOEHM, Betty Mary  -  Passed away peacefully at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo on Monday, May 22, 2017, in her 95th year. To Betty, her family was everything.

Beloved wife of the late Edwin Boehm (1958). 

Loving mother of Cheryl Strome, Heather (Bruce) Edmeades, Cindy (Allan) Balfour and the late Penny Gowing (2008); son-in-law David Gowing (Suzanne). Will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Miranda (Ryan) Gent, Brandon (Colleen) Strome, Sam Edmeades (Skylar), Clayton Balfour (Semini), Joe Balfour and Joshua Gowing (Larissa). Cherished great-grandmother of Abby, Emma, Marcus and Callum.  Also, survived by many other family and friends.

Ruth resided in Morningside Village, New Hamburg and was formerly of London. She was born 89 years ago in Fergus, Ontario and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Annie (Dunn) Nixon.

Beloved wife to the late Gerald Dirstein who predeceased her March 22, 2017. 

Loving mother of Deborah and Kirk Kennedy of New Hamburg, Ellen Belanger of Owen Sound, Laurie and Neil Hayward of Peterborough. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jillian, Meghan, Cowan, Samantha, Nicholas and Kyle.

Marran RobertMARRAN, Robert 'Bob' Charles  -  At age 85, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Born in Stratford, son of the late Fred and Madeline (Malloy) Marran.

Survived by his loving wife, Doris (Foster) Marran of 25 years.

Bob will be fondly remembered by his step-sons Kent and wife Sue Foster of Baden and Kedric and wife Danielle Foster of Wellesley, along with his step grandchildren Cole, Jaye, Hayden, and Hunter Foster.

Bob is survived by his only sibling; Marjorie Vere and many nephews.

Erika (Sommerfeld) Stachowski was the beloved wife of Leonhard Stachowski of St. Jacobs. Dear mother of Daniel (Lauren) Stachowski of Ayr. Loved grandmother of Bryn and Erik.

Survived by siblings Erna (Heinz) Kaminski, Horst Sommerfeld, and Klaus Sommerfeld. Predeceased by sister Hildegard Anton, and brother Henry Sommerfeld.

 

Moncur DonaldMONCUR, Donald Stewart 'Don'  -  Passed away on Sunday May 21, 2017 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at the age of 86.

Loving husband of Florence Moncur ( nee ) Bechtel. Dear father of Beverley Idsardi and her husband James of Waterloo, and John Moncur of Guelph. Loving grandpa of Brittney, Erin, Cameron, Aysia and Zach.

Donald will be remembered by a large extended family. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth Moncur and 5 other siblings.

Beloved wife of Paul for 48 years. Loving mother of Kim(Andrew) Matheson and Terri(Chris) Sambol. Adored Nanny of Tyson, Tegan, Tayla, and Tanner Matheson and Blake and Ashley Sambol.

Anne will be missed by her sister Doreen Deas, sisters-in-law June Farmer and Cynthia(Jim) Mallard. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Clifford Farmer and sister Iris Tudor.

 

Chapman HaroldCHAPMAN, Harold Wakenshaw  -  Passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday May 21, 2017, at the age of 79 following complications from brain surgery. He spent his final hours surrounded by Nancy Schmidt, his wife of 32 years, their children Ben and Sam Chapman-Schmidt, his first wife Sandra Sutherland, and their children Nick and Amanda Chapman.

Harold was born March 30, 1938 in South Africa, where he spent his childhood. He moved to Australia in 1957, where he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, then to the US in 1963, where he completed his PhD in physiology, before he finally found a country to call home in Canada in 1969. He spent the last 32 years of his life in Guelph, Ontario, where he taught generations of vets their craft at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College.

Boomer MarilynBOOMER, Marilyn  - It is with great sadness that Marilyn's family announces her sudden passing on May 20, 2017 surrounded by her family at Brantford General Hospital. Marilyn was in her 81st year. 

She was the loving wife of Jim Boomer for 62 years (2016) and proud mother of Rick (Annie), Cindy (Ralph) and Jim (Thurle). 

Marilyn is also survived by eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren as well as her brother Bill (Jane). 

She is predeceased by daughter Janice (stillborn) and sister Gail.

 

Barefoot RhodaBAREFOOT, Rhoda  -  Passed away after a brief illness at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, Ontario on May 20, 2017 at the age of 70 years. Born in St. John’s, NL on September 24, 1946. 

Predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, David Barefoot (May 18, 2006).  

Loving mother of Susan (Robert) Butt, Sherry (John) Buckingham and Stephen (Liane) Barefoot. Loving Grandma to Nathan, Alexander, Erin, Lauren, Jacob and Emma.

 

KRUISSELBRINK, Philippina Geertruida (nee Mulder)  –  Philippina met her Lord and Saviour on May 20th, 2017 in her 102nd year when she passed away at Forest Heights Long-Term Care Centre, Kitchener.

Beloved wife of the late Bernard Kruisselbrink (2007). 

Loved mother of Connie (Brian) Steed, Helen (Neil) Benjamins, John (Patricia) Kruisselbrink, Betty (Dan) Carter, Gary Kruisselbrink and Baby Ben. Loving Oma of Ian, Julia, Michelle, Laura, Eric, Daniel, Erin, Emily, Kristina, Rebekah, Rachelle, Alicia, Jaclyn, Nadine, Madelyn and Brianne. Great grandmother of thirty-two.

Beloved son to Lloyd Labelle and Kathy Cronier. Loving brother to Shawn Cronier (Krista), Craig Cronier, and Cory Labelle.

Always remembered by his best friend Jerry Halfpenny. He will be remembered by his many cousins and friends.

Kyle was an employee of Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Ottawa St. for the last 4 years.
