Skater RonaldSKATER, Ronald Murray  -  Passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, June 11, 2017. Ronald M. Skater, in his 59th year, was the dear father of Brandon. 

He was the dear twin brother of Richard and uncle of Melissa, Maria, Joshua, Amber, and Cody and great-uncle of Noah, Alexis and Hunter. 

Ronald was loved by many cousins and friends. 

He was predeceased by his mother Rose Rasso, his father Samuel Skater and by his ex-wife Christina Johannson.


HOUSTON, Beatrice Elaine (nee Forsyth)  -  Of Palmerston and formerly of R.R.# 3, Moorefield passed away peacefully at the Royal Terrace Nursing Home, Palmerston on Sunday, June 11, 2017 in her 90th year.

Predeceased by her parents and three sisters Shirley Withers, Phyllis Edwards and Doris Crawford.


Cunningham DonaldCUNNINGHAM, Donald Thomas  -  Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Don was born June 25, 1931 in Owen Sound.

Beloved husband to Ferne (Forbeck) Cunningham with whom he married on October 20, 1956. 

Devoted father to Cindy and James Robb, Judy and John MacLachlan and Patti and Mark Fawcett. Cherished grandfather to; Steven, Craig, Rebecca, Brittany, Brooke, Andrew, Kelly, Laura, Elle, Ed, Brooks and Brett.

He will be missed by his brothers Glenn, Bob, Dick, Ken, Ted, Jack and Jim. Don was predeceased by his brother Archie and his sister Lorraine.


DONNELL, Margaret Dorothy (nee Weiler)  -  Passed away at home on Sunday, June 11, 2017, surrounded by her family and her favourite pets, after a hard-fought battle with illness this year. 

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Grant Donnell (2012). Loved mother of Steve and Patti. Adored grandmother of Kyle, Ben and Connor, Jacob and Megan.

Cherished sister of Jim Weiler (Sandra), Clarice Garrod, Rita Orr, Jean Alexander (Doug), Annette Clayton and the late Jack, Rose, Bill and Patricia.

Although Margaret is pre-deceased by many family and friends, she still leaves behind many who will feel the great loss of her passing. The wonderful memories spent with her grandchildren shall remain with them for their lifetime.


JOHNSTON, Veronica Mary (nee Rush)  -  Passed away peacefully with family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on June 11th, 2017 in her 101st year.

Pre-deceased by her husband William Roy Johnston, brothers Stuart, Robert, George, and sister-in-law Helen.

Loving mother of Kevin, daughter-in-law Tracey and special 'Gramms' to Alexandra and Spencer.

She will be sadly missed by Edna Johnston, Ronald and Doris Johnston, Harold and Gladys Johnston, George (Helen) Ventry and families.


Maschke AlbertMASCHKE, Albert Arnold  -  At age 79, passed away peacefully at home, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday June 11, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Anna Maschke whom he married in 1975. Loving father of Barbara Maschke (Matthew Keast). Dear brother of Ruth Taylor, Oscar Maschke (Shirley) and Walter Maschke (Dianne).

He will be missed by his brothers and sisters-in law Mildred Roth, Samuel and Mildred Roth, Leola Roth, Gordon and Carol Roth and Ruth and Bruce Steinmann. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Dooman JohnDOOMAN, John Phillip  -  It is with deep sorrow that the family of John Phillip Dooman announces his passing on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Trinity Village Care Centre. 

Sadly missed by his wife of 15 years, Sally-Anne, stepchildren Kristen Laughton (Gord), Jamie Sebastian, and Ben Siapas, and grandchildren Elizabeth, Anna, Sophie, and Thomas. 

Beloved brother of Bob Dooman (Victor Dirda). John was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. 


WATTS, Norman Walter  –  Peacefully, at Brantford General Hospital, on Saturday June 10, 2017. A lifelong resident of Paris, in his 92nd year.

Norman really enjoyed his many years of retirement after working with the Paris PUC. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing and gardening. He was active in his community belonging to the Paris Agricultural Society.  He belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 29 having served with the Canadian Air Force in WWII.

Beloved husband to Shirley (nee Ford) for almost 65 years; loved father to Karen Martines (Lawrence); cherished grandpa to Maria Leary (Richard); predeceased by brother Ted (Joan Watts), brother to Graham (the late Joyce) and brother in law to Betty Ford (the late Keith), Lois Tooke (the late Len). 


STUART, Penelope Margaret Ann  -  With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Penelope Margaret Ann Stuart on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the age of 67. 

Penny was a quiet, calm, and relaxed individual who was kind, good-natured, and a friend to many. She was a talented artist, and spent many hours working on her colouring books, which were so good, she could have won awards. 

Penny was an active member of Community Living Cambridge, and the family would like to thank the staff there for their incredible care, especially those at Stonyburn Group Home, and the Adult Day Program. You provided such a loving, supportive, and caring environment for Penny, and we cannot thank you enough.


OLDFIELD, Joy Doreen (Limebeer)  –  Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington, Guelph on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in her 77th year.

Wife of Norm Oldfield for 53 years; loving mother of Mark Oldfield (Laurie), Gillian Oldfield and Jason Oldfield (Shauna Coates). Cherished grandmother of Rex. Predeceased by her brother Keith.

BETTRIDGE, Daniel Edward  -  At age 69, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on June 7, 2017. Daniel was born in London, July 20, 1947, son of the late Austin and Monica Bettridge.

Loving father of Catlin (Jennifer) and Dane (Jessica). Grandfather of Austin and Lauren.

Brother of Mark Bettridge (Janet) and David Bettridge. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Jane and Kim Bettridge.


MacNeil MurdockMACNEIL, Murdock 'Keith'  -  It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Murdock 'Keith' MacNeil on     Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Trinity Village Care Centre. Born in St. Margaret’s Village, Bay St. Lawrence, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late John James and Jane (MacNeil) MacNeil. 

Keith worked at Babcock & Wilcox for 30 years before retiring in 1993. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, his love of softball, bowling and gardening.

Keith will be sadly missed by his daughters Jane Lynne Glover (Doug) and Sarah Catherine Rees (Raymond). Beloved grandfather of Carson, Adam, Chelsea and Hannah.

McFarlane JeanMcFARLANE, Jean Mae  -  At age 89, formerly of 63 Grant Street, Stratford, passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Place on June 9, 2017. Jean was born in Stratford, daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Griffin) McFarlane.

She is survived by cousins Mary Griffin, Heather Blum (Steven) and special friend Audrey Martin.

Jean was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Stratford.
