Sims HaroldSIMS, Harold Gordon - (1932 (Yarmouth, N.S.) - 2021 (Ajax, Ontario))

Passed away peacefully on May 11, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Ajax following a short illness.

Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ellen Lena Sims, His son Terrance Ray Sims (Anna), and his daughter Kathryn Elaine Oldham (Bernie).

He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Harold is retired from CP express where he worked for 38 years.

Pedersen HazelPEDERSEN, Hazel Cavell - (September 5, 1936 – May 11, 2021)

Hazel peacefully passed away at home with her family.

She is finally united with the love of her life - the late Blenos Pedersen, and is enjoying the eternal presence of her Saviour. 

Hazel was the loving mom of Douglas, Larry, Marsha, Lorraine and Jodi and cherished mother-in-law to Mark, Danny, Eddie, and Meghan.

Family was one of the most important things to her.

She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren – Matt, Jennifer, Cathy, Chris, Amanda, Graham, Sonya, Kyle, Tony, Jacob, Samuel and Michelle, and Great Nana to Olivia, Theo and Cameron. 

Asuncion ManayonASUNCION, Manayon "Manny" Asuncion  - December 2, 1962 – May 11, 2021 

A loving son, husband and father Manayon Asuncion entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2021.

He was 58.

Manny’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life.

He spent a great deal of time serving the Lord through his God given talent in music.

Through the years he also gave his time to the church teaching and sharing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Manny was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church, and community. Manny is a humble and selfless individual who always and is able to lend a helping hand.

NASSER-SHARIF, Farah - (A Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine) 

Tragically on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at home, at age 47.

She will be forever missed by her partner Leisa Foote and her beloved friends.

Farah will be remembered for her research work, interest in heart disease and her love for sailing, travel, music and dogs.

WOODLAND, Eleanor Glynne (Walters)  - On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Eleanor passed at the Markham Stouffville Hospital, Palliative Care unit after a brief battle with cancer.

Eleanor, was a local Uxbridge girl born April 12, 1934 and was married for over 60 years to her loving husband Fred.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Eva Walters.

HOGARTH, Edith Christine (nee Rackham)  - (December 3, 1921 – May 11, 2021)

Surrounded by the love of her family, Edith passed away peacefully on May 11, 2021 in her 100th year.

Beloved wife of the late Bruce Hogarth.

WHITE, Iris  - Passed away at the McCall Center Etobicoke on Monday, May 10th, 2021. 

Loving Mother of Petrona Allen, Patricia Gay, Norris Allen and Everton Allen.

Loving and much loved grandmother of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Taylor RobertTAYLOR, Robert Brian "Bob"  - March 19, 1939 – May 10, 2021

On May 10th, 2021, the Taylor family lost a husband, father and grandfather to cancer.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Beryl.

Bob was a treasured father to Andrew & Sally, father-in-law to Noella and Paul, brother to Brenda, and a loving Papa to Shawn, Jaclyn, Dylan, Maddy and Robert.

Bob worked most of his career at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.

Late in his career, he also worked around the world on issues of nuclear safety through the United Nations.

Passed away at his home on May 10th, 2021 in his 70th year. 

Loving son of the late Aileen and Lorne Crawford.

CANANACO, Mario Canonaco   - Surrounded by love, Mario passed away on May 10th, 2021 at the age of 86 years. 

Much loved husband of Esterina (née Zingone).

TOWNER, Patricia Madeline (nee Grainger) - (June 7, 1940 - May 10, 2021)

It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Madeline Towner (nee Grainger) announces her passing on May 10, 2021 surrounded by her loving family in her final days. 

Patricia fought a short, but courageous battle with Cancer. 

Patricia was born in Toronto, on June 7, 1940, and is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Edward Towner.  Patricia and her husband Ted made Newcastle their home back in 1968, and have remained in Durham. 

RAMGOBIN, Phulmattee “Kamini” Ramgobin   -  March 29th, 1962 - May 10th, 2021

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughter, son and sister who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Kamini was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

CAMARA, Francisco Camara   - Francisco was called home on Monday May 10th 2021, at the age of 57. 

Beloved Husband of Rhonda. Dear father of Jessica, and Jennifer (Puglibear).

Cherished Grandpa of Carlos, Diego (Pal), Anthony (Forever fist pumps), Isabella (the most beautiful girl in the world), Brookelyn (little Oreo), and Elijah (little man). 

Hale RichardHALE, Richard Michael David - (February 27, 1978 – May 9, 2021)

Passed away suddenly at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa on Sunday, May 9th, 2021 at the age of 43.

Beloved son of Michael and Yvonne.

Loving brother of Alison and Debbie.

He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, Samantha (Brandon), Abby (Mike), Meghan, Jacob, Emma, Ben and two great nephews Isaac and Henry.

Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on May 9, 2021 at the age of 94.

Beloved wife of the late H. Patrick Hand.

Loving mother of Laura Cargill, Lillian Hand, David Hand (Jacki) and Earl Hand (Jacquie).

Cherished grandma of Mike Elliott, Jamie Cargill, Jody Cargill, Deandra Hand, Aleena Hand, Karrisa Hand, Ceilidh DeMattos, Chelsea Hand and Connor Hand.

Leonard HazelLEONARD, Hazel Idella (nee Watson) - (February 17th, 1927 - May 9th, 2021)

It is with deep and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Hazel Idella Leonard (nee Watson).

Born in 1927 in Upper Musquodoboit, N.S., she went by Della or Del for most of her life.

A name gifted to her for the grandmother that raised her, Idella Mabel, a grandmother she loved deeply along with her Poppa, Ross Howard Watson.

Della had a lovely childhood on the family farm and shared many of those memories with her family.

I think we can all picture the cottages on Mill Lake, the pasture, and her very own cucumber garden that her grandpa planted just for her.

MARTIN, Beverley Anne  (Rowe)  - Mother’s Day May 9, 2021, the angels called our mother Beverley home to be united with her dear husband George.

Forever in the hearts of her children; Larry (Doug), Linda (Terry), Pamela (Scott), Cindy, her 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Our beautiful mother was so gracious and kind, so full of energy and enthusiasm for all of life’s adventures.

SMITH, James Thornton Smith  -  James (Jim) Smith passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville with his best friend, Keith and his nephew Stuart by his side on May 9th, 2021. 

Jim was a wonderful man who always had a smile and a sparkle in his eye.

He had impeccable integrity and remembered when times were simpler. 

DESCHAMPS, Michael Randolph Deschamps  - 1961 - 2021  Michael 'Randy' Deschamps passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital on May 9th, 2021 in his 60th year after battling cancer.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Irene 'Fred' Deschamps.

MacMILLAN, Kenneth Gordon 'Gord' Hugh - Peacefully, on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the Port Perry Hospital, at age 88.

Gord MacMillan, dearly loved husband of Nancy (nee Kight). 

Loving father of Matthew MacMillan (Dianne) of Port Perry, and Susanna MacMillan (Hal) of Orillia.

BAYLISS, Mary June   -  Leaving a legacy of love, Mary Bayliss   -  84, passed on Mother's Day, May 9, 2021 in Whitby, Ontario.

Mary was born on June 22, 1936 in St. Mary, Jamaica as one of nine children.

In 1958, she married Hildebrandt Bayliss, before enjoying nearly 63 years of marriage.

In 1959, Mary and Hilly welcomed their first child, Nicola.

ANDERSON, Louise Anderson   -  This May 9th 2021 Louise took her final breath with her husband by her side.

Louise caught a rare form of Pneumonia called Legionairs. 

The sun rose and the world welcomed Louise on May 8th 1957 the day the world became a little brighter.

    

Tanguay RickTANGUAY, Rick - (August 5th, 1957 - May 8th, 2021)

Passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at his home, at the age of 63.

Beloved husband of the late Trish Martyne.

Loving brother of Linda (Dave) and Monique.

Dear uncle of Mike (Sheri) and Barry (Keri) and great-uncle of Carter, Evan, Leah and Parker.

Stepfather of Jay and step-grandfather of Niesha and Trinity.

Predeceased by his parents Maurice and Kathleen.

 

Castillo HermanCASTILLO, Hernan Alberto Castro Castillo  -   June 12, 1955 -  May 7, 2021 

Loving husband of Rosa Eliana, cherished father of Stephanie Bertuzzo and Melanie Castro and the beloved son "he never had" Philippe Bertuzzo.

Adored grandfather of Delphine and Olivier Bertuzzo, and leader of his loyal mascots and "mini-pals", family pets Archie and Baxter. He died peacefully with his family at his side.

His legacy lives through all of them and will continue to be honoured forevermore.

We would like to thank the nurses and medical teams at Lakeridge Health at both the Ajax & Oshawa facilities, and send an especially heartfelt thanks to Dr. Shannon Fernando for not only the world-class medical care he provided, but for his extraordinary humanity, compassion and kindness towards us as a family.

Hickey JohnHICKEY, John Patrick  - (March 7, 1945 – May 8, 2021)

On Saturday May 8, 2021, the Hickey family lost a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle, to Parkinson’s and a severe stroke.

John Patrick Hickey is finally at peace.

John was the beloved husband of Marlene for 52 plus years.

John was a treasured father to Kim (John); Brian (Heather); loving Grandfather to Serena, Phillip, Kelsey, Collin, Charlize, and Liam.

Cherished Brother to Martin (Susanne (d)), Anne Marie (d), Terry (Eleanor), Judy (Rob), Susan (d), Kathy (Brian), and Tim (Shelley). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
