GETTINBY, Robert John – Peacefully in his sleep on October 4, 2018 in his 86th year at Port Perry Place.
Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Inglis) Gettinby.
Dear father of Thom (Carol) of Little Britain.
Survived by his brother David William Gettinby of Columbus Ohio. Bob will be remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a hot metal printer and was happiest setting type on a Mergenthaler Linotype working at a number of printing houses including the University of Toronto Press (1967-1982) and latterly as the sole proprietor of the Velvet Road Press.
Heartfelt thanks to all of the staff of Port Perry Place and Dr. Amita Dayal who provided loving and compassionate care to both Dad and Mum during their stay.
If so desired memorial donations to the Hospital For Sick Children or the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
A Celebration of life service will be held in the spring of 2019.
