JOOSTEN-VAN VEGHEL, Catharina (Cathy) (nee van Den Broek)  - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mother, Oma, Great-Oma, Sister and Aunt on Thursday, November 1st, 2018 at South Lake Village Residential Home in Newmarket, ON, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 25th, 1931 in Bakel en Milheeza, Netherlands, Cathy was the daughter of the late Johannas and Martina van Den Broek and was the fifth of eleven children.

She has been predeceased by the two loves of her life, Harry Joosten and Frank Van Veghel, and daughter Martina. Momma will be deeply missed by her loving children Joanna (Ken), Theresa (Russell), Bernard (Jean), Harriette, Yvonne (Doug), Rita (John), Russ (Terri) and Patricia (David), and 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as the Van Veghel children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Our Mom’s love touched many family and friends in her life, through her church and the extension of all her children’s friends. Everyone who met Mom could feel a genuine caring and love for them. Throughout her life, Mom had a strong belief in her faith which continued even into her last month by attending church services.

Her joy in life included card games, house parties, dancing like there was no one watching, and family gatherings. We will miss our Mother with an aching heart, but know that she is at peace, joyfully with her husbands, her daughter and her family.

Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 6p.m. to 9p.m.  A Catholic Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 70 Toronto Street N., Uxbridge on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 12p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society.
