TURNER, Shirley (nee Gunter)   - Peacefully, on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the West Haldimand General Hospital in Hagersville, at age 92.

Shirley, beloved wife of the late Roy Turner of Blackstock.

Loved mother of Lorrie and her husband Ron Minshall of Caledonia, and Janet and her husband Jim Byers of Blackstock.

Loving grandmother of Sara (Mike), Ken (Danielle), Tim, and Brian and great grandmother of James, Drew, Lyla and Ken. Dear sister of Ivan (deceased) and his wife Irene (deceased), Blake (deceased) and his wife Jessie and Dale (deceased) and his wife Joyce.

Shirley was an active member of the community for many years. She spent most of her teaching career at Cartwright Central Public School, taught swimming lessons, was a leader for both the Brown Owls and Rangers, was a volunteer with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program and was a member of the ONO. She was actively involved with both the Coe Hill United Church and Blackstock United Church.

The Family of Shirley Turner will receive friends at the Wagg Funeral Home, Port Perry, on Thursday, January 3rd from 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to Celebrate her life will be held at the BLACKSTOCK UNITED CHURCH, 3483 Church Street in Blackstock on Friday, January 4th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jennifer Uhryniw officiating. Private interment.

If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Blackstock United Church Memorial Fund or Port Perry Hospital Foundation.
