HAMPOLE, Dr. Mahadevappa - Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, June 7th, 2019, in his 83rd year.

Beloved wife of Jayashree of 48 years.

Loving father of Ravi (Kristi) and Anil. Cherished grandfather, "Ajja," of Tudor and Kirin.

A Celebration of Life will be held in August at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club, at a date and time yet to be determined.

Madhu immigrated from India to Canada in 1963. He completed medical school at the University of Toronto, and trained in Reconstructive Surgery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and London, Ontario.

He opened his practice in 1971 in Oshawa and married his wife Jayashree that same year. He served the Durham Region as a Physician for 47 years.

He was an authentic and honest caregiver, looking after every patient with interest and integrity. He was a committed family man, and a loyal friend. He always spoke with purpose and clarity.

He was a captivating story teller, with an infectious laugh and an incredible sense of humour. He was a real character. Madhu was an avid golfer, having been a member of the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club, his second home, since 1974.

Madhu was also an avid reader, with a particular interest in historical biographies, poetry and philosophy. There was nothing he liked better than to engage in an interesting conversation with anyone and at any time. And he always made time for those he cared about.

Anyone who met Madhu appreciated his sharp wit, candour and joyful spirit. He was a kind soul and a true gentleman. He was an inspiration to us all and he will not be forgotten.

No services are scheduled at this time.
