WRIGHT, Robert Edward Wright  - March 1, 1944 - September 13, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Edward Wright on Friday September 13th, 2019 at the age of 75.

As per his wishes, he passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family.

Robert was born in Manchester, Jamaica on March 1st, 1944. Son of Louis Wright and Amelda Hanson.

Beloved husband of Alberitha (nee Reid) for over 56 years, and father of Baswell (Judy), Marcelin, Lundeen (Charma), Aericka and Tracy (Clayton). He will be missed by his surviving brothers and sister; Victor, Gee, Ricky, Devon, Selvan. Deeply loved and fondly remembered by his 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his brother and sister in laws, his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Robert immigrated to Canada in November 1968 where he settled in Toronto and was joined shortly afterwards by his young family.

He was a long time employee of General Motors. He was a friend and mentor to many and an example of how one person can impact and influence others in how to be there for everyone, and yet still be there for his family. He had a positive impact on all family and friends with whom he came in contact and got to know.

He always had a positive outlook on life and tried to enjoy the simple things. His laugh and sense of humour will be missed.

Following his funeral, a celebration of life will be held on September 23rd, 2019 at the McEachnie Family Centre, Ajax.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Markham-Stouffville Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
