RAGNUNANDAN, Christine  -  of Pickering, Ontario, born March 25, 1966, passed away at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto on October 1st, 2019.

Christine was the daughter of Raymond and the late Alvareen Kisten.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-six years: Moses Raghunandan; her children Katherina, and Matthew; siblings Shadrach and Meshach Kisten and nephews Dimitri, Jeremy, Nataniel, and Isaac.

She will also be missed by her extended and church family, co-workers, students and friends.

Christine was born in Albion, Guyana and attended J.C. Chandisingh High School where English and Literature were her favorite subjects.

To her teachers, Christine was a warm, friendly and eager student, who was affectionate and well liked.

Christine’s love of children led her to be a Sunday School teacher at her local Christian church.

In Guyana, she was an enthusiastic member of the church community and her involvement in helping those around, even beyond the confines of the church, was a source of mutual joy and satisfaction.

Christine left Guyana as a young adult, and migrated to New York. She later got married and made Canada her home.

In Canada, she continued to be a blessing to those around her: lending a helping hand, and giving of her time, as she saw the need.  In addition, she was an active member, and an integral part of her local church.

Christine was a Registered Early Childhood Educator who was greatly respected by her co-workers at St. Elizabeth Seton YMCA, and she was a source of delight and inspiration. Her kind and caring attitude, along with her sense of humor, endeared her to students and parents alike.

Christine’s loved for underprivileged families and children led her to support various missions around the world, one of which is HAITI ARISE.

The family would appreciate that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: https://www.haitiarise.org/donate.  Under the section “I want to contribute,” please select “Children’s Village.” Under “Specify project/sponsor name,” please write “In Memory of Christine Raghunandan”.

Arrangements entrusted with DESTEFANO FUNERAL HOME.
