GARRITANO, Gennaro ‘Gerry’ – This is the obituary of a free-spirited, colourfully stylish and good humoured man who lived a purpose driven life.
With an unwavering strength of mind and heart, Gerry was called home by the Lord on October 8, 2019 at the age of 69.
Tremendously missed by his children Sonia and Daniela (Bradley), Gerry was the loving son of the late Clemente and Clorinda Garritano, and beloved brother of Anna (Mario), Alfredo (Giulia) and Vincenzo.
Predeceased by his brother Matteo (Assunta), Gerry was also the cherished and revered uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The proud owner of Oshawa Concrete Finishing, Gerry was a treasured colleague of many within the home building community.
Often touted as “the hardest working man in the business”, Gerry will lovingly be remembered for his awe-inspiring generosity, infectious personality, zest for life, and his incessant yet gentle teasing of those he loved most.
Friends may gather at the Oshawa Funeral Home, on Wednesday, October 16th from 1pm – 3pm and 5pm – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 17th at 10am at ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER PARISH 1100 Mary Street N in Oshawa. Entombment to follow.
