MCGHEE, Florence Ora (Flossie) - Passed away peacefully in Norwood, Ontario on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019.
Beloved wife of the late Bill Christopher and the late George McGhee.
Loving mother of Wayne and predeceased Bruce, Ronald and Karen.
Cherished mother-in-law of Audrey Christopher.
Beloved grandmother to Ronald, Paul, Bruce, Robert and Bruce Jr., and great grandmother to Julian and Sarah and Christian.
Flossie was born in Bolingbroke, Ontario on February 13th, 1925 to William and Elizabeth McEwen.
She was the youngest of 9 children. Flossie resided in Belleville for 22 years, she worked at Belleville General Hospital for 6 years and attended Calvary Temple Church.
She moved to Oshawa in 1966 and was employed at Oshawa General Hospital for 23 years and retired in 1988, she remarried to George McGhee and spent 9 winters in Florida, living in Midland, Ontario in the summers.
She became a widow in 2001 and moved back to Oshawa where she became a permanent resident.
Flossie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was always supportive and an inspiration. She will be dearly missed by her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home on Sunday, November 17th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation taking place one hour prior, followed by a short reception.
