NEWELL, William Franklyn Robert 'Frank' - Born in Oshawa on January 23, 1929, son to Alfred and Eva. 

Predeceased by his wife, Irene, of 50 years, Frank passed away peacefully on November 26, 2019 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. 

Frank was cherished by his daughters Wendy Moss-Newman (Rick Newman) and Brenda Hobbs (Dan) and his grandchildren Robert Moss, James Moss (Morgan), Marshall Moss, David Hobbs (Jaimie) and Rachel Hobbs and great granddaughter Wren. 

He will be sadly missed by his dear friend Elsie Warner, sister Betty Lucas (Don) and brother-in-law John Kane (Marj), his many nieces and nephews and close friends. 

Predeceased by brother Alfie Newell (Flo), sister Jean Eakins (Bob), sister-in-law Anne Thacker (Bill), brother-in-law Bill Kane (Marg) and nephew Scott Eakins. 

Frank worked in General Motors for nearly 40 years and afterwards for Achieve Consulting. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. 

As a gentleman with a wonderful sense of humour, a love of travel and gourmet chef, Frank enriched the lives of all who knew him. He often remarked, “I have had a wonderful life.” 

Frank enjoyed 6 years in the Wynfield Retirement Residence. The family thanks the staff of the Wynfield Long Term Care Home and the nurses and doctors on 6G at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their warmth and care.

A Memorial Service will be held on December 21, 2019 at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, Oshawa. Visitation at 1 pm. Service at 2 pm.  Reception to follow. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church Oshawa, 812 Hortop St., Oshawa, Ontario L1G 4P1.
