Ellis OrvalELLIS, Orval Henry   - December 28, 1919 – December 16, 2019 

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Orval Henry Ellis at his residence on Monday, December 16th, 2019. 

Orval Henry Ellis was the husband of Unice Madeline Conner in his 99th year. 

Predeceased by his parents James and Lillie (nee Woodcock) (McFarland) Ellis. 

Predeceased by his brothers Clarence Norman Ellis (Dorothy), Ezra Erven Ellis and predeceased by his sister Anorma Arena Ellis (Bill).

Survived by his brother Walter Nathan Ellis (Yvonne). 

He is survived by dear sons Wayne Ellis, Ken Ellis (deceased wife Joyce) of Lindsay.  Survived by his daughters Shirley Hellemond (Albert) and Lynda Russell (George) of Oakville. 

Survived by grandchildren, Rebecca (Eugene), Heather (Steve), Derek, Gary, Deanna (Dwayne), Michael, Shawn, Gregory (Destiny), Nicholas, Todd (Nick) and several Great Grandchildren. 

He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, a grandniece, a grandnephew, extended family and friends.  He will also be sadly missed by Wayne's dog Lucky. 

Orval was a founding member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #43 in Oshawa.  He was also a member of the Loyal Orange Order and played the flute in the Orange Band in Tyrone, Ontario.  Orval was a member of the Senior Citizens in Oshawa and enjoyed their meals and loved his white fish at Captain Georges.  He was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Hampton, Ontario. 

The family would like to thank the Staff at Souls, Medigas, LHIN, Community Care Durham, VHA, nurses and doctors for their excellent care and support, Veterans, Legion, and a thank you to Pastor Horton and the musicians of (Community Baptist Church). 

Thank you also to the staff at Oshawa Funeral Home for all their care.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME , 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234) on Sunday, December 29th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, December 30th at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Horton officiating.

Interment to follow at Mount Lawn Cemetery, in Whitby.

Memorial contributions to Community Baptist Church or a CHARITY of your choice would be appreciated.
