Phil, in his 64th year, passed away peacefully with his loving family and friends by his side, on Friday December 27th, 2019 at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa.
Husband of Sharon, loving father of Derek (Christine), Rob (Crystal) and inseparable best friend of Army.
Devoted Grampi to Tristan, Soleil, Autumn and Isla.
Dear brother of Carol Knapp (late Bob) and John Goodwin (Donna).
Cherished son of the late Gladys and Chester Layton and Fred Goodwin. Uncle Boz will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families.
A special thank you to his many close and loyal friends that have been by his side through his journey of life. Thank you to all the staff at LHO G7 and CCU for their care and compassion and thank you “M” for providing Phil your Gift of Life 17 years ago.
The family will host visitation and the funeral service at King Street Community Church, 611 King Street West, Oshawa. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Friday January 3rd at 1:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Guide Dogs for the Blind (USA) or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
