ELGIE, Lawrence “Larry” Earl Elgie  - May 16, 1949 - January 15, 2020

Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health Ajax on January 15th, 2020.

He was 70 years old.

Larry was born on May 16th, 1949 in St. Catharines, Ontario to parents Richard and Sophie Elgie (Walsh).

Loving husband to Sandra Leah Elgie and proud father of Sarah (Garett), and Richard (Jessica).

Beloved Grandpa to Katelyn Rose and Jonathan Lawrence.  He is survived by his brother Dennis Richard, and sisters Sandra Mae and Sharon Ann; sister-in-law Christine Andrews, and nephews Dennis James, Tommy (Sheena) and Danny.

Larry traveled extensively in his youth, enjoyed sports and spent many years playing slow pitch.

Later in life he took up golf with his father in law. His retirement was spent with his family.

He loved spending time and spoiling his grandchildren, relaxing at home with Sandy watching their shows and giving the occasional ‘donation’ at the casino.

Memorial service details to come.  Arrangements with McEachnie Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in Larry’s name to the Lakeridge Health Foundation (https://lakeridgehealthfoundation.akaraisin.com/Donation/Event/DonationType.aspx?seid=11104&mid=48&Lang=en-CA).
