TAVARES, Zelia Maria - (July 2nd, 1938 - February 6th, 2020)
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, February 6, 2020.
Beloved wife of Joao Tavares for nearly 64 years.
Loving mom of Jose and his wife Christine, Joao, Marta and her husband Frank, David, Rogerio and Evaristo.
Lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and their families, as well as her 6 great grandchildren.
Survived by her sisters Alda & Maria as well as her niece, nephew and their families.
Zelia will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME (5295 Thickson Rd. N., Whitby 905-655-3662) on Saturday February 8th from 10:00 – 12:00. A funeral service will follow in the Barnes Chapel at 12:00 noon.
Zelia will be laid to rest at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
