McCALLUM, Robert “Bob” Hugh - With much sadness and much love, we announce the peaceful passing of our family’s patriarch, Robert “Bob” Hugh McCallum on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the age of 89.
Bob was born on August 13, 1930 in Toronto.
He married the love of his life, the late May, on November 24, 1951. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Sandra (late) and Linda.
Bob was the proud grandfather of Erin (Blake), Drew (Lynsey), Kate, Sarah (Nicholas) & Taylor. He was blessed to call Scottie and James his great-grandchildren.
Beloved brother of the late Patsy. Bob will fondly be remembered by brother-in-law Don (Barb) and many other family, friends and neighbours.
An avid golfer, he walked many a fairway and loved to spend time puttering around his home. Bob had a beautifully brilliant mind. One of his finest passions in life was entertaining family and friends. Bob told thousands of memorable stories, and his rich sense of humour & bravado propelled him through the years, allowing him to ride life’s journey in his own bold, unique way.
The family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to Dr. Curtis Hadden and Dr. Sue Shepherd. Special thanks to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Campus Supportive Care team.
The family plans to celebrate Bob’s life privately.
