CALDARA, Matteo "Matthew" - With great sadness, we announce that Matteo (Matthew) Caldara passed away suddenly while at home on Saturday May 16th, 2020, at 69 years of age.

Born in San Biagio Platani, Provincia Agrigento, Sicilia on February 2, 1951.

Matthew leaves behind his “cheri” and loving wife of 41 years, Lisette (Lisa).  He will be deeply missed by his two adoring children, Rachel and John-Matthew.

Survived by his brother Sam (Linda) and sisters, Angela (David), Nancy (Mike), and Lydia (John).

Predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Giovanna, eldest brother, Frank (Franco) and youngest sister, Serafina (Ruth).  Matthew will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many more family and friends.

Matthew was a loving, genuine and kind soul to all who knew him. We will miss him greatly and carry him in our hearts forever.

Unfortunately due to the gathering restrictions at this time, there will be a private visitation and service by invitation for the immediate family only, which will take place on Friday May 22nd. For those who are unable to attend but wish to witness the service, there will be a live stream of the funeral service at 2:00pm. Arrangements with McEachnie Funeral Home, Ajax.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, in memory of Matthew.
