McCullough DorisMcCULLOUGH, Doris  - (June 15, 1941June 10, 2020)

The death of Doris McCullough of Oshawa occurred peacefully on Wednesday June 9, 2020 at home with her family.

Born June 15, 1941 in Johnville, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Marion Cronin.

Doris loved working in her yard, gardening in the summer, shoveling the snow and creating snow sculpture.  She loved a good game of euchre and Scrabble.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her Grandchildren.  She enjoyed the simple times with them, baking, colouring and playing games.

She loved a good cup of tea, some sweets and a good conversation around her table, a chore list on a Saturday morning and creating original Birthday cards.

Always a teacher, she enjoyed engaging all the children in her life in conversation. Doris loved a trip to Port Perry.

To describe Mum's life in one word would be difficult but if nothing else it was a life of service.  Her commitment and caring for her Family, none greater than her time caring for Dad in his later years through his struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mum enjoyed her service at St. Philip's church and the great friendships that grew from her time on the various committees and faith group.  Her greatest joy was to create and work on decorating the church for all the different celebrations.

Doris is survived by her loving children, Francis (Lucia), David (Kelly) and Susan (Danny); her adoring grandchildren, Amanda, Shannon, Nicholas, Jackson, Samuel and William.

Step Grandson, Steven Robichaud and his family.  She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Cecil. Doris is also survived by her cherished Brothers and Sister, Louis, Arthur, Sister-in law Jane Cronin, Edmond (Marie), Kay (Stan), Kevin (Judy) and Joe and Sylvia McCullough; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by Alice Guest (Paul), Margaret Nixon (Norris), Clarence Cronin, Margeurite Cronin and Chris Cronin. Doris' family would like to thank all her supports through the LHIN, Community Care Durham and Saint Elizabeth.  Special mention to Crista, Suzanne, Erline, Faye, Sandra, Loretta and Sam.
