Lariviere LindaLARIVIERE, Linda Elizabeth - (August 17, 1952 – July 26, 2020)

With broken hearts and many tears, we sadly announce the passing of our wife, mom, sister, nannie, aunt, and friend forever.

Linda Elizabeth Lariviere, formerly Linda Buziak (nee Sloan), passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 26, 2020 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa just shy of her 68th birthday.

Soulmate of her loving husband Gord Lariviere of Oshawa where they both lived.

Loving daughter of Lorne and Elizabeth Sloan (Predeceased) of Lindsay, mother of Kristyn and (Kevin) Bruce, Carly Buziak (Ian MacDonald), sister to Gord and (Nici) Sloan of Lindsay, Greg and (Rochelle) Sloan of Freelton.

Loving aunt to Amanda and (Dave) Runge, Zachary Sloan, and Jessica Sloan. Great Aunt to Hayden, Harlow, and Evie, and a year ago blessed with her 1st granddaughter of only 10 months Sloan Bruce.

Linda grew up in Lindsay, Ont. amongst friends and family before going on to post education to become a Registered Nurse from the Osler school of Nursing, a highly touted school in Toronto. Linda held various roles in numerous hospitals throughout her career. Prior to retiring in 2016, Linda was the Charge Nurse at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Linda’s greatest love in life was to be with family especially after the birth of her 1st grandchild “Sloanie”.

She dedicated all her time to others whether that be at work or at home.

A lover of wine, travel, music, and golf, Linda was always ready for the next big adventure.

After battling and winning the 1st round of cancer 2 years ago, the cancer returned in April of this year faster and more aggressive than anyone realized. In true Linda fashion, she fought until the very end.

We will miss Linda so so dearly; however, she is now at peaceful rest.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME who supported Linda and her family through this devastating time.

Friends are invited to join the service via FACEBOOK at the Oshawa Funeral Home homepage on Thursday July 30th at 10:30 a.m.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to Lakeridge Health Foundation will be appreciated by our family.

Condolences may be made at oshawafuneralhome.com .
