THOMAS, Richard Wade  - MARCH 24, 1973 – AUGUST 27, 2020 

Peacefully at home, after a long and difficult struggle with cancer, Richard passed away at the age of 47.

Beloved husband & bear to Kathy (nee Lotton). Devoted father to Kevin. 

 

Richard is the son of Gary & Cyndy and a brother to Michael, his wife Trish and their children Oak and Rhae. 

He was predeceased by his father in law Jack. 

He leaves to mourn him, his mother in law, Norma, brother in law Bill, his wife Darla and their daughter Tabitha; his honourary brother Ken and number uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. 

Richard was born and grew up in Scarborough. 

He was a high level wrestler in school and also played league softball in Guildwood. 

Richard enjoyed his time at our family hunt camp/cottage with family and friends, whether fishing, hunting, swimming or just relaxing. 

After school Richard became an electrician and was a proud member with Local 353.  He always loved his work and many co-workers. 

The family wishes to thank the many caregivers, PSW’s and palliative team that assisted with Richard’s care. 

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville on Saturday September 5th from 1 – 2 pm.  A Funeral Service will be held to honour and remember Richard at 2 pm in the Chapel.  Due to current limitations, only a certain number of people will be admitted, please call Kathy if you would like to attend (905) 419-4195.

Donations may be made to Bowmanville PACT (Palliative At-Home and At-Hospital Care Team).
