Lochhead Micheline MickeyLOCHHEAD, Micheline 'Mickey' Liliane - (November 7, 1942 - September 15, 2020) -

It is with tremendous sadness family and friends announce the farewell of Micheline “Mickey” Liliane Lochhead at Centenary Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Left at an orphanage, battled polio and had two toes removed, had one foot half the size of the other, passed from foster to foster, pushed down a stairs, had her neck broken, survived I can’t even remember how many surgeries, she smoked and battled COPD, I’m not sure how many times she had pneumonia, heart attacks, cancer and then has been zapped by her defibrillator relentlessly over the last 10 months to have her pass on the day they were repairing that heart - it had had enough.

Mickey for those who knew her loved her family fiercely and was always the life of every party.  Her gift of making people laugh and bragging about her family knew no limits.

Mickey affectionately known as “Boots” by the love of her life John Robert Lochhead, whom she married on June 21, 1963.  Together they raised four children and several foster kids along the way.  Cyndi (Elmer), Scott (Sharleen), Sandra (Al), and Samantha aka Damn Sam (Steve).

Her Grandchildren were the light of her life…. Justyne, Isaiah, Jarrod, Aysha, Ryan, Matthew, Kayla, Liisa, Deven. Her great grandchildren will always remember a Great G’maw who always made them laugh:  Grayson, Rose, Forrest, Jackson, Rylee, Briar, Tyson, Aliyah, and Ryker.

Her love of animals knew no boundaries, she shamelessly fed all of the fur kids from the table and saved anything in need excluding snakes.  She is now sharing a snack with her past beloved pets Teddy, Amigo, Mikey, Tasha, Major, Brandy, Cricket, George the cow, Mathilda the turkey, Hassenpfeffer the bunny, Shehasta, Kirby, BC, Tara, Layla and Trash.  And will be missed by Angus, Piper, Kenny, Moose, Tootsie and her beloved bearded dragon Xerxes. (We have since forgotten the many names of the horses, goats and various animals helped and lost along the way).

Our family lost a legend a hero, and our memories of her will be embedded in each of our hearts. She will be the shadow that walks beside us.  We will always hear her laughter in the wind. Today the world has a new star watching over us.  She will always be missed.
