BICANIC, Mary (nee Chunko) - (May 9th, 1926 - October 4th, 2020)
Member of CWL and Daughters of Isabella for over 25 years.
Passed away peacefully on Sunday October 4, 2020 in her 95th year.
She was born on May 9, 1926 in Cunkova Draga, Croatia.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter of 37 years. Her parents Mark and Pepica Cunko and her sister Dragica, brother in law Mijo and nephew Josip Speljko.
She will be greatly missed by her nieces Mira Cunko, husband Frank and Goldie Matkovich, husband Tom.
Her great niece and goddaughter Diana Moffatt, husband Aaron and daughters Megan and Alexandra. Late great nephew Frank Michael Cunko. Great niece Mary Farrell, husband Christopher and sons Morrissey and Tomas. Great niece Carolyn Matkovich, husband Olivier Boileau and sons Nico and Hugo. Great niece Suzana Matkovich.
Will be fondly remembered by her family in Croatia, Nephew Mijo Speljko and family and great nephew Marko Speljko and Family. Beloved cousin to Nikola Ciglar, wife Ankica and family.
Many thanks to the Staff of Clarion nursing home in Hamilton for the wonderful care, compassion and respect shown to Mary over the last 4 years.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church (373 Simcoe St. S., Oshawa).
