METHERALL, Glen Russell  -  (June 15, 1954 – October 25, 2020)

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Glen Metherall. He passed away at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital, with his wife by his side, on Sunday, October 25, 2020, after a seven-year battle with cancer.

Glen leaves behind his wife Karen, of 38 years, and son Brady.

Also surviving him are his siblings Robert “Butch” (Patricia) of Uxbridge, Linda Featherstone (Gary) of Sandford, Cindy Shaw (Todd Fisher) of Little Britain, Allan of Cannington, Les (Cherece Dinsmore) of Udora, and Laura of Udora. His nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends will fondly remember Glen, his wit, and humour.

His parents Les and Hazel and his brother Wayne predeceased him.

Glen spent his spare time watching NASCAR races, air brushing, watching/feeding the birds in the backyard, looking after his gardens, fishing, and fixing/building/renovating around the house. His greatest enjoyment and past time was washing, polishing, and riding his motorcycle.

Glen was a fighter, a real trouper, who never let his cancer become his disability; he bewildered members of the medical profession by defying the odds. Every doctor who treated him, and there were many, would comment “you are definitely an unusual and unique case, Mr. Metherall.”

Glen, your fight is now over and you can finally rest in peace.

Due to the current Covid-19 Restrictions, the visitation and service will be for invited guests only.

In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to make a donation in Glen’s memory, please give to the Markham-Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
