GILLETT, David - David was born June 26, 1927 in Montreal, QC, the son of Marjorie Gillett (Britton) and Richard Ernest Gillett, and passed away peacefully in Oshawa on November 15, 2020 with his family by his side.
Lovingly remembered by his spouse of 43 years, Norma (Planche) Gillett and his step-daughter, Cindy Molloy (Alfred) of Calgary, AB, as well as grandchildren Ryan, Christopher, Kelly and Brent, and several great-grandchildren.
David was predeceased by his step-son, Scott Planche (Patricia).
Devoted father to Keith, Brian (Suzanne), Terry, Hal (Karen) and Paul (Jan) from his prior union with the late Jean Umphrey, and grandfather to David, Patrick, Alexander, Ryan, Derek, Matthew and Justin, and great-grandfather of Lydia.
David is also survived by his loving brother, Lawrence (Peggy) Gillett, of West Chazy, New York and nephews John (Kathy) and Michael (Becca).
David was a Professional Engineer, having graduated from McGill University in Montreal.
Our sincere thanks to the staff of Lakeridge Health hospital in Oshawa and Harmony Hills retirement residence for their care of David.
Arrangements for a memorial service will be made once the pandemic has subsided sufficiently to allow one to be held safely.
