Gikizas MargaretGIKIZAS, Margaret 'Lynn' - (April 24, 1950 – December 7, 2020)

Sometimes love is for a lifetime.
Sometimes love is for a moment.
Sometimes a moment is a lifetime.

Passed away in the hospital on December 7th, 2020, in her 70th year, Margaret Lynn Richardson, the much loved wife of Cosmas of 47 years, and devoted mother of Modestos, her greatest accomplishment.

Lynn was the beloved mother-in-law to Tara Gikizas (née Taylor) and loving grandmother of Cosmas and Kostas Gikizas.

Lynn was the daughter of the late Ralph Edward and Margaret Byrnece (née Gourley) Richardson of Pandora Circle, Scarborough and Sutton West.

Lynn was the granddaughter of David and Margaret (née Connolly) Gourley, and Ernest and Cora (née Hutcheson) Richardson.

Sister of Charlee (Lee Gibson) and Doug. Sister-in-law of Robert Gibson of Whitby, Ruth Richardson of Whitby, Kostas and Mimi Gikizas of Greece.

Lynn was the daughter-in-law of the late Modestos and Maria (née Theodorou) Gikizas of Athens, Greece.  Proud Aunt of Maria and Nikos Gikizas of Greece, Connor Robert and Holly Brianna Gibson, and Jennifer Lynn and Stephanie Ann Richardson.  Niece of Margery Richardson.  Niece and predeceased by Doug and Marion Richardson, George Richardson, Angus Gordon and Irene Hall, and Dave and Shirley Gourley. Cousin of Bob Richardson, Donna Dainty, Cathy Lewis, Judy Lott, Debra Hamilton, Glenn Gourley, Karen Priest, Kevin Gordon and the late Stephen Richardson.

Lynn was a quiet person who enjoyed life; while she was cautious to a fault when meeting people, she was a true friend to all who touched her heart. Lynn had a special love for Jasmine (a foster child) and Anife (a Romanian orphan she tried to adopt).

Lynn was born in Toronto, raised in Scarborough, and lived in a variety of places in Canada (Elford, BC; Calgary, AB; Prince Albert, SK; and the cities of Rolphon, Kincardine, Ajax, and Courtice in Ontario) and overseas (Athens, Greece; Cernavoda, Romania; and Ulsan, South Korea).

Past employee of Bell Canada, McDougall and Brown Funeral Directors, Sears, Dr. L. R. Harnick and Associates, a foster parent with the Durham Children’s Aid Society, and past member of Cardiac Rehabilitation Organization, Oshawa.

As per Lynn’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements are entrusted to COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice, (905-432-8484).
