Bongard ElsieBONGARD, Elsie May 'Elsa' (nee McDonald) - (September 16th, 1930 - December 18th, 2020)

Elsie May Bongard took her final breath on Friday December 18th, 2020.

Despite her infinite love of candy and chocolate bars, she lived to the tender age of 90.

She leaves behind her loving family and a legacy of kindness.

Elsie May was born to Robert and Vida McDonald in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on September 16th, 1930.

She met her late husband James Gordon Bongard in Toronto while working as a dental hygienist.

They had their beloved daughter Tracy and led an adventurous life full of friendships that lasted a lifetime. They spent Thirty-Seven wonderful years together.

Elsa leaves behind her loving and caring daughter and son in law, Tracy and Henry Dunn. She will be greatly missed by her granddaughter Jenna Dunn (Lori Dunn) and great grandson August Dunn. Grams “GG” was a very important part of their lives.

Elsa was predeceased by her beloved brothers and sister-in-law, David McDonald (Margaret), Robert McDonald and Bruce McDonald. She leaves behind her sisters in law Merle McDonald and Rose McDonald, whom she loved dearly.

Elsa will be fondly remembered by everyone she met. She was the most kind and gentle soul.

Thank you to all of the staff at Lakeview Manor for your continuous care and attention.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, Oshawa.

In lieu of flowers, she had requested that donations be made to your local humane society, as she loved pups and cats alike.

Condolences may be left at armstrongfh.ca .

Let what will be, be.”
