Harmer DavidHARMER, David Harold Milton  - (November 9, 1934 - January 15, 2021) 

David Harold Milton Harmer passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, on January 15, 2021 in his 87th year. 

Beloved husband for 58 years of Marlene (née Peel). 

Devoted father of John (Susey), Jim (Kelli) and Janice (Kristopher) Sharpe. 

Proud grandfather of nine grandchildren; Tristan, Daniel, Ethan, Chloe, Mark, Andrew and Matthew Harmer, Ryan and Kate Sharpe. 

He is survived by two sisters; Shirley Masselli and Elizabeth (Betty) Lea, and sister-in-law Marion Harmer. 

Predeceased by his parents William and Gladys Harmer, sister Lorraine (George) Pearce, brothers Arthur (Barbara) Harmer and Kenneth Harmer and brothers-in-law Beni Masselli and William Lea. 

He will be sadly missed by nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. 

David enjoyed a career as an elementary teacher with the Durham District School Board.  He took great pride in his collection of Canadian antiques and their history.  He was interested in music, drama, photography, outdoor activities, including time at the lake.  He took great pleasure in family events and special time with the grandchildren. 

A private family service will take place at Kingsview United Church, Oshawa on Thursday, January 21st.  Interment at St. James Cemetery, Toronto will follow the service. 

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice through the McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).
