Brown JackBROWN, Jack J. - (February 14th, 1927 - February 4th, 2021)

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at his home.

Beloved husband of Jessie (nee McCubbrey). Loving father of Glenn (Lynne) Brown, Jacqueline (the late Gary) Ford, and the late Joanne Brown. 

Cherished grandfather of Shannon (Dave), Jessie, Tyler (Crystal), Kelly (Treena), Klayton, and the late Glenn Lowery. Dear great-grandfather of Zachary, Hannah, Thomas, Jordyn, Zion, and Kenadi.

Predeceased by his brothers Les and Bern, sister Mary, and his parents Jack and Lillian.

 

Jack was born and raised in Windsor, ON. After attending W.D. Lowe High School from 1940-44, he played football in the ORFU with the Windsor Rockets and hockey for the Windsor Spitfires.

In 1953, Somerville Industries, moved him and his family to Toronto.

While living there for the next 20 years, Jack was a charter member of the Scarborough Optimist Club, forming their first Boys Club and hockey league. Jack was an avid golfer and was a member of Beach Grove Golf Club for 27 years.

He and his wife retired to Foxboro Green, outside of Waterloo in 1995.

In 2000, they moved to Oshawa to be closer to their family.

As per Jack’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jumpstart.
