Sabljic DorisSABLJIĆ, Doris Irene (nee Foster) - (June 13, 1926 – February 7, 2021)

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital, Oshawa, in her 95th year.

Doris was predeceased by her beloved Ivan (2020), and was the cherished mother of Josephine, Matthew, John (deceased), Mary, Caroline, Patricia and Doris.

Treasured grandmother of Anthony, Michelle, Nicolas, Jessica, Christina, Emilie, Jordan, Maria, Joey, Joanna, Danielle, Sean, Jacqueline, Lizzy, Nikki and Thomas, and adored great-grandmother of Patrick, Gregory, Peter, Logan, Elizabeth, Lucy, Anna, Lauren, Christina and Alice.

Doris was born in Belleville, Ontario, the third of five children, to British immigrant parents.

In 1948, her life changed forever when a handsome stranger named Ivan moved onto her street.

Two years later, she and Ivan were married, and were as connected as two people can be, celebrating nearly 70 years of marriage together.

Doris was a woman who was fiercely proud of her family, for nothing gave her greater pleasure than having a house full of children and grandchildren.Holidays were always spent around the table in her kitchen, where she was always sure to offer cookies galore and, of course, walnut roll.

Doris had a mischievous side to her, and a great sense of humour. She was always up for adventure.

To anyone who was blessed to have known her, she has left an indelible mark, forever to be remembered for her kindness and selflessness.

Her children wish to extend our thanks to the nurses of 4F at Lakeridge for their care of Doris in her final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial (by invitation only) will take place on Saturday February 13th at 11 am. The Mass will be available for viewing via Livestream at the following link: https://funeraweb.tv/diffusions/7f278733-d8bb-4888-8c3b-9aadde909c96.
