Vipond Alderdice MarionVIPOND/ALDERDICE, Marion Theresa (nee Vondette) - (December 1st, 1930 - February 12th, 2021) - Of Oshawa.

Passed away peacefully at Wynfield Long Term Care Residence on February 12, 2021, at the age of 90. 

Dear daughter of the late Emile & Angele (nee Daoust) Vondette.

Beloved wife of the late Claude Vipond and Ernest Alderdice. 

Loving mother of Eric Alderdice (Ella) of Clarington and Michael Alderdice (Irene) of Markham. Loving stepmother of Pamela (Peter Elias), Dorothy (Jayant Lele), Duncan (Elizabeth Carson), Alison and Malcom.

 

Cherished grandmother of Cameron, Shane, Aidan, Briar, Christopher, Joy, Abhijeet, Amod, Nicholas, Catherine, Margot and Megan and great-grandmother of Alex, Isabella, Ivy, Lily, Beckett, Maggie and Abby.  

Dear sister of Arthur, Doris, Jeanette, Judith and the late Omer, Evelyn, Eva, Margaret, Helen, Delia, Mary, Lillian, Emile, Theresa, Benetta and Richard.  Also, sadly missed by many friends and relatives. 

Marion was a Registered Nurse and managed Simcoe Hall Children’s Centre. She was an integral part of starting the Grandview Children’s Centre.

Marion greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially hosting family gatherings, was well known for her excellent cooking skills, accompanied with her friendly and cheerful hospitality. Some of her favourite activities were golf, curling, long walks, playing Bridge and Scrabble.

Marion will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her warmth, generosity, an ever-present smile and laugh, and her selfless, loving and caring spirit.

As per her wishes, Marion donated her body to the University of Toronto.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
