ROSE, Lydia - (April 27, 1945 - February 21, 2021) - It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Lydia Rose at the age of 75 at the Kemptville District Hospital after living for 12 years with Parkinson’s Disease.
Lydia was born in Kingston, Jamaica and immigrated to Canada in 1972 with her husband Carrol.
She was predeceased by her daughters Hyacinth Rose McFarlane and Charmaine Rose Harriott.
She is survived by her husband Carrol Rose, daughters Linda and Olivia and son Andrew, and she was cherished by her 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As a young woman Lydia came from humble beginnings. She graduated high school early and pursued further education in finance in Jamaica. She married her husband Carrol at the age of 20 and shortly welcomed their first child, Linda. They immigrated to Canada in pursuit of greater opportunities for themselves and their young children, Linda and Charmaine.
Lydia was a loving woman and opened her home to many. She adopted children when she settled in Canada, and throughout her life she always welcomed anyone who needed help and support.
Along with an illustrious 35 year career in accounting and payroll administration, Lydia also gave her time as a volunteer to many organizations including the United Way and the Heart and Stroke foundation where she walked in organized fundraisers. She will be sorely missed but she will forever live on in our hearts.
