McPhee RonMcPHEE, Ron - (May 28, 1937 - February 26, 2021)

It is with heavy hearts that the McPhee family announces the passing of their beloved Ron McPhee.

Ron fought hard right until the end and passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sylvia (née Chopik), his children Lyn (the late Mark Malion) and Mark (Pam), his grandchildren Aaron (Lindsay), Landon (Rachel), Ryan (Christine), Danielle (Brendan), Shaelyn (Christian), Alicia, and Austin, and his great granddaughter Aela.

Ron is remembered for many things: his extraordinary sense of humour and quick wit, his memorable charm, his kindness and generosity, his love of birds, golf and the cottage, his made-up jingles, his impromptu speeches, and his homemade wine.

He was always eager to provide a laugh to anyone who would listen.

Ron’s personality was impossible to forget; he made an impact on everyone he crossed paths with and treated them as if they were a new friend.

Above all else, Ron is remembered for his endless love for his family.

Ron loved to share memories, and more importantly create memories. He possessed the unique ability of captivating you with every story he told, and these are the memories his loved ones treasure the most.

The McPhee family would be honoured if you could share your favourite memory of him to help keep his tradition of story telling alive.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ron’s memory.

Celebration of Life to be held at a future date. Arrangements entrusted with ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, Oshawa.

Online Condolences may be shared at armstrongfh.ca .
