HICKS, Walter Frederick George Wally Hicks   - April 27, 1942 – March 5, 2021

It is with deep sadness and eternal love that the family of Walter Hicks shares the news of his passing on March 5th, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a brief illness.

His daughters, Shannon and Sheri were by his side as he left this earth to be at peace.

Wally is predeceased by his mother Emily Bland, his father Walter Hicks Senior and his sister Susan Baker.  Wally was the much loved father of Sheri (Wade) and Shannon (Kevin) and dearly cherished grandfather of Cassandra and Nick Makarczuk and Isla and Weston Hicks-Barclay.

Wally leaves behind his “little sister” Carole Link.  He is loved and will be missed by his girlfriend Lynda Flintoff and her family.  He will be sadly missed by his very close friend Ingrid Hicks.

Wally has many close extended family members and friends who were fortunate to have known him and have him in their lives.

He was an amazing dad, partner and friend and will be incredibly missed and cherished forever.

Wally was the Plant Manager of the Bowmanville Goodyear plant for many years.  Before Wally retired, he was the managing director of several Goodyear Canada Industrial Rubber Plants.

Rest in peace dad.  We love you and you will be in our hearts forever.

Arrangements with Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville for Sunday March 14th.  A Private Service will be held in the chapel at 2 pm.  In lieu of flowers,  In keeping with COVID-19 regulations attendance will be limited.

Memorial donations be made to The Cancer Society.
