DIMITRA, Fenton (nee Vlachos) Dimitra   -  A beautiful Valentine’s Day baby born on February 14, 1968, died on the early morning of March 6th, 2021, age 53, after a valiant and dignified battle with cancer.

Taken much too young, Dimi is survived by her husband David Fenton and her daughter Eleni.

Predeceased by her parents Sotos and Eleni Vlachos.

Remembered and deeply mourned by her Uncle Aris Vlachos, sister Maria Vlachos (Dennis Walker) , nephews Evan and Daniel Egnatis. She will be dearly missed by Parents-in-law Cathy and Jim Fenton, Sister-in-law Monica Fenton, predeceased by Michael. Chosen sister Jo Ellen Fenton, and sister-in-law Jennifer Houle (Jason).

Dimi will be missed by her nieces and nephews in the Fenton Family Krystal, Jason, Madeleine and Harrison.

Dimi’s infectious personality and zest for life means she leaves behind a multitude of family, chosen family and close friends who loved her dearly.

Dimi loved life — she loved her family, she loved food, she loved dancing (especially with her Daddy)!, she loved travelling — and was happiest when those things happened simultaneously.

Dimi met her husband David at the gym and they never looked back, eventually adding their pride and joy - Eleni - to their family — and later Bernie, the dog.

Their love story endured for the entire time they were together - David being the perfect foil for Dimi’s sparkling, spirited personality.

Dimi fought her battle against cancer with positivity, determination, bravery — and wry humour.

She died how she lived — on her own terms.

Dimi and her family are grateful for those who gave never-ending love, encouragement and support over the past few years.

Due to the pandemic, a private ceremony will be held for immediate family.

A celebration of Dimi’s life will be held post-pandemic; but until then, in honour of Dimi, go grab somebody you love and just dance.

Donations can be made in memory of Dimitra Fenton to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre (Durham) or a charity of your choice.
