MaCKENZIE-MAIR, James 'Jim' Piers - Aged 82, passed away suddenly at home in Ajax on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021.

Jim was born in what is now Mumbai, India, on 21 September, 1938.

He was educated in his native UK at Ampleforth College and Trinity College, Oxford, and served in the Seaforth Highlanders. An adventurer at heart Jim emigrated to Canada in the late 1960s.

He worked and lived throughout the country, developing a love for the expanse of the country especially the landscapes of the West.

Jim’s integrity and Scottish work ethic made him an effective and well-liked Director of Operations in the haulage industry.

He was decent in his dealings with union leaders, drawing on the sense of fair play he learned at school and university where he excelled on the rugby and cricket fields and on the water in rowing eights.

In the early 1980s Jim settled in Toronto and it was there that he met the love of his life, Lise (nee Girouard.)   They married in 1981 and Jim enjoyed some of his happiest years with Lise as they travelled the world together. Lise passed away in 1995.

Arrangements with Accettone Funeral Home.

Jim maintained a healthy interest in his community, including the Church, until his death and was active in his later years.

He is survived by his sister Mary, nephew Crispin, niece Hamida, and great-niece Serena.
