BUGEJA, John Donald - (October 27th, 1944 - March 26, 2021)

John Donald Bugeja passed away in his 77th year at Centenary Hospital after complications arising from a blood infection and COVID-19.

John was known for his generosity, dedication to his family, and his knack for breaking out into song - usually something Elvis and usually in public.

He is remembered as being on the eternal hunt for the biggest rainbow trout, his red plaid flannel shirt, the ever-present red baseball cap, and his rotation of 4 sweatshirts consisting of classic Roots and the 1993 Blue Jays World Series - very Canadian.

The macho man with a generous heart - but not a strong one. His recent years were spent battling heart disease. Despite all the push-ups and bicep curls, he was not strong enough for COVID.

As a managing partner of Quality Rugs of Canada for over 40 years, he touched the lives of more people than we can count. Although “the boss,” you would find him there early every morning talking with the installers who were heart of the company. Working along side his uncle, “Papa Joe," his brother, and other family members, he grew the company into a successful business.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Patricia Bugeja (nee Weaver), his daughters Michelle and Lisa (Scott), granddaughter Isabella, brother Nino (Teri), nephews Chris (Shelley), Brett, and niece Kaitlin.

He will be missed by so many including his dear friends the Blair family.

Funeral services will be arranged when all of John’s family are able to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
