MELVILLE (nee Moroney), Jaqueline Brenda Theresa   - Jackie Melville, 73, passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Center on Friday, April 2 with both her children by her side.

Eldest of three children, Jackie was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario by her mother Florence Moroney.

At the time of her death she was living in Barrie, Ontario.

Jackie was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  For Jackie, her family always came first before anything, and anyone who knows Jackie, knows this.  Once grandchildren came along, they had her smiling from ear to ear. All 5 grandchildren have many special memories spent with Grama, and will miss her immensely.

During Fred’s battle with Cancer in 2020, Jackie was adamant that she be his caregiver and provided top notch loving care right up until the end.  Jackie was a very strong and independent woman, known as a “fighter” who many of us have looked up to over the years.

Jackie is survived by her children Jason, and Kristin (Drew) Laswick, her brother Thomas (Helen) Moroney, and grandchildren Jacob, Katheryn and Nicholas Melville, and Holly and Mitchell Laswick.  Jackie was predeceased by her loving husband Fred (August 2020), her mother Florence Moroney, brother Clifford Moroney, and brother-in-law Fred Kelly.

Jackie is also survived by her husband Fred’s brothers and sisters Bruce (Pat), Dave (Josephine), Marion Kelly, Judith (John) Bennoch, Barb (John) Corness and Susan Melville.  Jackie will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and supportive neighbours in Barrie.

Arrangements with Destefano Funeral Home.

Jason and Kristin would like to thank all of their family and friends for their incredible support over the past couple of weeks, it has meant so very much to them.  They would also like to thank the amazing teams in the CVICU and Cardiac Surgery units at Southlake Regional Health Center for the incredible care, communication and compassion they provided during their mother’s care there.
