TAIT, Margaret Tait   - Passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at the age of 86.

Beloved wife of Warren for 57 years.

Loving mother of Chris (Tammara), Ken (Judy) and Mike (Jennifer). Predeceased by her brothers James and Park and her sisters Mary and Bertha.

Margaret will be greatly missed by her sister Joan Smith of the UK as well as her 9 grandchildren (Nolan, Leah, Gabriel, Connor, Liam, Cailin, Shannon, Jensen, and Jaden) and 2 great-grandchildren (Theodore and Margaret). She will be fondly remembered by all of her extended family and friends.

Born in 1935, in Bolton-le-Sands, Lancashire, England, Marg was the fourth of six kids in a family with loving parents, John and Margaret Strickland.

in 1961, Marg and her three best, nursing (life-long) friends, Pauline, Isobel, and Nancy boarded a ship to cross “the pond” for Canada.  It was on a blind date in the Spring of 1963 when Warren, as he stated, “saw the prettiest girl I’d ever laid eyes on.”

They danced the night away, fell in love, and were engaged within weeks.

And by June 29th of that same year, Warren and Marg were married at The Anglican Church of the Messiah on Avenue Road in Toronto.

Marg and Warren’s journey for the next 57 years had begun.

In her final days, mom was content. She had lived a precious, blessed, beautiful life, loved by and loving her loyal husband and grateful children.

We all told her how deeply we loved her and how truly and eternally thankful we were for all that she had done for us, had taught us, and had given us.

She lives on in her children and their children.

We miss you, Mom. See you someday soon.

At the family’s request, no service will take place to keep everyone safe.

In memory of Margaret, donations may be made to the Newcastle United Church or a charity of choice.
