Hanewich BensonHANEWICH, Benson  -  July 31, 1927 – April 30, 2021

Passed away peacefully in his 94th year at his home in Courtice on April 30th.

Benson was born to Mildred and Anthony Hanewich at coordinates outside of Ituna, Saskatchewan.

He moved with his family to Courtice in 1935, where he studied to build and wire his own home.

Professionally, he did the work for 3 Engineers (Tool and Die, Industrial and Chemical) for Werners Aluminum (Oshawa) and Reynold’s Aluminum (Richmond Hill) for years although he himself never held an Engineering Degree.

He retired years later as the Manager of Ajax Sufferance Warehouse, an inland port.

Benson was a strong advocate of natural health and a raw food vegan for 65 years.

He devoted his life to sound health principles and lived and followed universal laws of life. He was the devoted husband of the late Isabelle (nee Shemilt).

Beloved brother of the late Pete, Olga, John and Ernie. Dear gentle but firm father of Daniel, Kim, Mark and wife Karen, Lorne and partner Brian.

Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Andreas and Mikhail Hanewich-Hollatz, Mathew, Mitchell and Marshall Hanewich, and Michael Garrow and as well by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A sincere thank you to the wonderful caring PSW’s and friends who gave both compassionate and comfort care during these last 4 years.

Cremation services were held at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME  and a Celebration of Benson’s Life, his health focus and fond memories will take place in all of our hearts for years to come.
