Wilson MargaretWILSON, Margaret “Peggy” (Duncan)  -   July 8, 1927 – May 17, 2021

Peacefully passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 in her 94th year.

Peggy lived her life with generosity, fierce independence, pride, strength and love for her family.

Beloved wife of 32 years to the late Alan Wilson (1978).

Loving mother to her devoted daughter Eleanor and her husband Walter Kisil.

Cherished “Nana” to Lesley (Jason Ciciretto) and Michael (Danielle Dubyk) and beloved “Nana Peggy” to Matteo and Maryse.

Survived by her brother James Meikle (Catherine) of Langdon, Alberta and predeceased by brother William Meikle of Brisbane, Australia.

Peggy will be dearly missed by her best friend, “like a sister,” Mary Aitken of Coalburn, Scotland, and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Peggy was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. She was also an avid and beautiful knitter, highly acclaimed baker of her Scottish shortbread, fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the slots.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the caring and compassionate staff on Cullen Path and McLaughlin Bay at Chartwell Wynfield who treated Peggy with much kindness.

Surrounded by the love of her family, an intimate and private service to celebrate her life was held on May 21, 2021 at the Courtice Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at GROVESIDE CEMETERY

As expressions of sympathy, donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church (Oshawa) or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Memories, photos, and condolences may be shared with the family at –  courticefuneralchapel.com .
