It is with deep sorrow and endless love that the family mourn the passing of Leonard Edward Smith on May 22, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Port Perry.

Len passed away peacefully with family by his side.

Beloved husband of Patricia for 26 years.

Loving father figure of Krista (Joe), Joseph (Erin) and Sandi (Colin).

Cherished Grandfather of Amanda (Ryan), Tyler (predeceased), Jessica (James), Meghan (Dan), Emily (James), Daniel, Hunter, Isabella, Hope, Chandler, Zoey, Leo, Quinten and Vivienne.

Cherished Great-Grandfather of Berlin, Britton, Heidi, Charlotte and T.J.

Predeceased by his brother Bob and sister-in-law (Linda). Dear brother-in-law and friend to Vance and Linda, Rob and Sandra, Doug and Lorna (predeceased). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Len was an avid outdoorsman.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and he loved to go for a walk.  He always looked forward to his May 24 weekend fishing trips, his hunting trips and spending time in Kirkland Lake, where lifelong memories were made.

Len touched the lives of many.  He was always a true gentleman, a family man and would do anything to help his family and friends.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787).

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Len’s name to Lakeridge Health Port Perry or a charity of your choice.

Many thanks to the caring staff at Hillsdale ADP and to his many PSW’s for their special care.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff of Lakeridge Health Oshawa and Lakeridge Health Port Perry.
