Wright JosephWRIGHT, Joseph Ferguson   -   February 11, 1933 – May 25, 2021   –

After a strong courageous battle with cancer, Joe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25th 2021.

He was a loving and devoted husband to Marion his wife of 65 years who stayed by his side until his last breath.

He was a cherished father to Joseph (pre-deceased), Elaine, Steven, Marion and Sandra.

A fabulous and fun granda to Shea, Steven, Katherine, Alison, Shannon, Kevin, Juliano and Mia (Megan, Melanie and Allyson). And great granda to Joey (Aubree and Averie).

Joe was born on February 11th, 1933 in Glasgow Scotland.

At age 17 he served with the Royal Air Force as an ambulance driver. He met his wife Marion when they both worked at the Scottish Motor Traction where Joe drove the double decker bus and Marion was a conductress.

They married in 1956 and immigrated to Canada in 1968 to start a new life.

Joe worked for the Scarborough Board of Education driving a school bus until his retirement at age 63.

Joe got to enjoy summers at the trailer with his family, he was a champion ring tosser being nicknamed ‘Lord of the Rings'.

Joe is a long-standing member of the Celtic Club in Whitby where he leaves behind very close friends who adore him.

Joe along with his wife’s names are commemorated on the Celtic Football Club Stadium in Parkhead Scotland.

Joe left us peacefully while watching game 4 of the Stanley Cup playoff hockey series… he left us to watch the rest of the game with his beloved son Joseph. Rest in Peace sweet Joe, you are so well loved and will be missed everyday.

May you light continue to shine bright.

A private family funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.  We look forward to a ‘Celebration of Life’ when the time is right.
