57, of Whitby, Ontario, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 27, 2021, after a five-year battle with cancer.

He was promoted to Glory and is now enjoying being in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Philip was surrounded by his loving wife, son, family and friends at the time of his passing.

Philip was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica on June 23, 1963 to Ken Burton and the late Pansy Burton.

He immigrated to Canada at the age of 7 with his parents and siblings.

He was married to Ava for 32 wonderful years and had one son, Joshua.

He worked as a bus driver for the Toronto Transit Commission for 30 years.

As a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Philip loved to read his bible, praying for and with others.

He enjoyed singing, cycling and wood working and most of all spending time with his wife.

He was a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects around the house.

He was also actively involved in maintaining a high level of fitness and consistently worked out in the gym.

He was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, and friend, always thinking of others first.

Philip is survived by his wife, Ava; his son, Joshua; three sisters, Debbie, Anne and Nea; his father, Ken; and many members of the Grant/Burton/Pryce/Noble families and friends.

He has left behind wonderful memories of a loving husband, father, and friend.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Philip’s final scripture verse he shared with Ava prior to his passing was:

“…The just shall live by faith.”  Romans 1:17 NKJV
