McCONNELL, Jane - April 30, 1939 - May 24, 2021
Jane went home to the Lord peacefully and gently on May 24th, 2021 in her 83rd year at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry.
Beloved wife of Mike McConnell and mom of Rona Formosa (Dan), Kim Wyman (Dave), and Natalie Attersley (Chris).
Cherished grandma to Christopher Attersley, Carissa Gauthier, Stephanie Gauthier and Capt. James Formosa.
Jane also leaves behind great grand children Makinley, Lorelei, Wyatt, Erly and Sophie.
Jane has one sister, Nancy Kirk of California.
Jane is predeceased by her parents Stacey and Adie Withers, her first husband Jim Weist, and son-in-law Earl Gauthier.
Since 1963 Jane lived in Oshawa, and briefly in Lindsay, returning to Oshawa 5 years ago.
She attended various evangelical churches and made many friends.
She touched many lives with her faith and positive, uplifting spirit.
Jane loved singing, dancing, kayaking, board games, ladder ball and walking.
Jane served one term as a public school board trustee in Durham Region and drove a school bus. Special thanks to Alicia, her palliative care nurse, Dr. Martin (palliative care doctor) and the various PSWs attending her at home.
Warmest thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry where Jane spent her final days. Arrangements entrusted to THORNTON CEMETERY and FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787).
