Stenz GertrudSTENZ, Gertrud Olga Stenz  -  June 9, 1925 – June 27, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gertrud Olga Stenz (nee Ouoos) on June 27th 2021, with her family by her side.

Gertrud came to Canada in 1955, with a career in nursing.

She met and married Peter in 1958, and remained his loving wife for over 62 years.

Adored Mother to Michael (Dara) and Angelika (Andrew).

Proud and cherished Oma to Eric Stenz.

Daughter of the Late Karl and Olga Quoos, of Konigsberg, Prussia.

Predeceased by her brothers, George and Willi Quoos.

She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Axel Quoos.

Gertrud wholeheartedly loved her family and friends.

She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, and a story or two.

No one ever left hungry and with her sense of humour, no one every left without a smile.

She fed any and all animals, wild and domestic.

She would spend hours watching the birds, squirrels and sometimes fostering raccoons.

She loved to swim, and was always the first one in the pool in the spring.

She loved flowers and plants, and would spend hours in the garden.  Gertrud loved to dance and was a social butterfly during her many years as a member of Club Loreley.

She especially enjoyed being an active participant in the Woman’s Auxiliary Group, as well as the Choir.

Gertrud will be missed by her extended family and friends in Canada and Germany.

Donations in memory of Gertrud may be made to a  CHARITY of your choosing.

Arrangements entrusted to the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234).
