Lake RonaldLAKE, Ronald, Alan  -  August 1, 1953 – August 8, 2021

Retired GM 30 Years Peacefully and surrounded by family at his side, Ron passed away on August 8th 2021, at the age of 68.

Beloved husband to his wife Alina, his “sweetheart” of 45 years.

Loving dad of Kriss (Lara), Matthew (Melissa), Adam (Brittney).

Cherished Papa of Evan and Kathryn. Brother of Marilyn (John) and the late Joan.

Brother-in-law to Greg, Stan (Diane), Barb (Brady), and the late Andrew (Helen).

Ron will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

After a 30-year career as an electrician at GM, he retired and went on to obtain his Master's license. Ron was hardworking and dedicated, and his family was always his number one priority.

His (crude at times) humor never failed to get the room laughing.

Ron was passionate about the outdoors, fishing, camping, golfing, and traveling. He was an avid movie buff and loved supporting his grandchildren at the rink.

Ron suffered a stroke in 2013 but this did not slow him down. With determination, he continued to pursue his passions.

The Community Care Durham- Adult Day Program then became a regular part of his life, and he was considered to be an ambassador for the program. Ron joined the Columbus United Church and this became an important part of his life. He always looked forward to Sunday service and enjoyed the companionship and friendships made.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa- specifically the ICU staff who showed compassion and were so helpful to Ron and his family in his final days.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME , 847 King Street West, (905)-721-1234 on Saturday, Aug 14th, 2pm- 4pm and 6pm-8pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, August 16th at 1:30pm.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Columbus United Church would be greatly appreciated.

Online condolences may be made at  oshawafuneralhome.com .
