PAOLOZZA, Antonio “Mimi” - Passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 84th year. Antonio was the devoted husband of Esterina for 55 years.
Antonio is predeceased by his father Vincenzo, mother Rosalia, brother Michael (Teresa), sisters Teresa (Lario) and Amelia, brother-in-law Felice (Elba), brother-in-law Tonino (Gemma), and sisters-in-law Tersa (Tomaso) and Elisa.
Antonio is survived by brothers Robert (Brenda), Giuliano "Jules" (Joy), and sisters Lucia (Joe) and Gemma.
Antonio was a favorite uncle (Zio Mimi) to numerous nieces and nephews, a devoted godfather to several godchildren, and a cherished friend and cousin to many others throughout Italy, Canada, and the United States.
Antonio immigrated to Canada from Baselice, Italy, in 1955 to build a better life.
A lover of good food, fine wine, and a hearty laugh, Antonio will be best remembered telling stories, entertaining friends, and enjoying a good meal from his chair at his dining table.
Antonio loved to travel, having spent many winters in Mexico with his beloved wife, played the accordion, and lived life to the fullest.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the nurses, PSWs, and care providers at Bayshore for providing Antonio with the support he needed during his final days.
We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for caring for him in his final hours. Antonio will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and especially by his forever-admiring wife Esterina, who spent every moment devoted to him.
We love you; rest in peace, Tony.
